Hi Community, I have a question on the different behaviour in Apps9 v IFS Cloud when creating a new document. In apps9, if you create a new record from Document Revision, when you hit the Edit button, the application launches a dialog that prompts for the file type, once selected the associated program is launched. I dont seem to see the same behavour in IFS Cloud (23R2), can anyone confirm that this previous functionality is now depreciated and if so what is the work around, and if not, how do you create the same functionality in Cloud. To add some context, in the above scenario, if WORD file type was selected, a macro would run and populate the newly created document with the IFS properties, allowing them to be inserted (and therefore updated dynamically) going forward. Thanks in advance.David.  

I have a client needing to attach new documents to various objects.  Some documents are drawings and need to have the same document number as the Drawing Number and Revision they are attaching.  I have changed the default for the New Document in the Attachment Panel to utilize the Create Document Assistant so Document Numbers and Revisions can be added. If the Object the Document is being attached to, using the New Document, is not set up in the Quick Object Connect table, the document does not get connected to the Object. Is this a Bug? If I add the Object to the Quick Object Connect table, it will automatically be connected.

Does IFS Document Management support attachment parsing for text documents WORD or PDF? basically the system to be able in examining the data present in a document like keywords and other text to make it available for SEARCH ? If this capability is not available ? are we going to include it as a model in Copilot for future releases?  is this on the Roadmap?

Hi all, I would need to change every document that is uploaded into the IFS environment so they would have restricted access. I have managed to find an option that will change one selected document (also an option that effects newly imported documents), but I would need to change every single one which is already uploaded. When I try to edit documents in document revisions I do not see such an option in editing window, is something like this possible? Or is the only way to do it a migration job? Thanks for your help. 

Recently in the Application Monitoring console we have noticed a large number of unsynchronised application search documents.  I am able to bring up the details of these but have not yet found a way to synchronise them and clear the system alert. We are on Apps10 update 20.  All of the scheduled database tasks around document management appear to be running without error, but none of these clear the growing issue.Any ideas on how to resolve this are appreciated.

Hello,  I would ask you a question. It is possible in Oracle Db updating or deleting data in views? I tried update column in some view, but I got error: “Cannot perform a DML operation on a read only view”. Is there an option to update view not in oracle db, but in IFS cloud app? Exist other options? Thanks

We're currently in the process of transitioning from APPS10 to IFS Cloud and are facing a significant challenge with migrating document attachments.In our APPS10 environment, we used a shared repository for storing documents. However, with the shift to IFS Cloud, we've encountered an issue as shared repositories are not supported in the cloud environment. While we have set up a database repository in IFS Cloud for new document attachments, which is working fine, we’re blocked when it comes to migrating the existing documents from APPS10.We need to ensure that all our existing document attachments in APPS10 can be brought over to IFS Cloud and remain accessible within the application.I would greatly appreciate any insights or best practices on how to migrate these documents from a shared repository in APPS10 to a database repository in IFS Cloud. Has anyone else faced a similar issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Hi!Why is it that if you want to send document links of Document Type = View, you can only select the Latest Revision option? Seems like I’m missing something here, but isn’t the view file also conntected to the document revision on the same terms as the original?/ Kenneth

Hello, Is it possible to display number of attachments instad of default icon without clicking on it?  

One user is unable to view approval process tab  on the attachment of activity  scope and schedule screen .The user doesn't have the approval process  tab enabled as follows. The user account of this user is having similar permission as another user(sferri) who can see the approval process tab.What can be causing this issue . Hi,Recently we had a customer where  documents in the document_ticket_temp path are getting piled up drastically. These files are not with the usual file naming format. But formed with different characters. Ex:9fa28a97-0248-4d49-8c1a-d91d04a38cc2 with type “File”. These files are not getting deleted, but daily hundreds of these types of files are accumulating.  Unfortunately, still we were not able to find from where these files are coming.  We checked ‘Application Messages’ at the same time that the documents are getting generated inside the Temp path. Then checked whether any integrations are dealing with this. No clue for this was found.  Took an IFS_HOME dump to see whether we would get any help.Has any of you experienced  these types of issues, where “9fa28a97-0248-4d49-8c1a-d91d04a38cc2” randomly named files are getting generated but not getting deleted inside the documen

Creating document macros can be easy or hard. There is however one thing that is common to most of them: we need to get hold of the path and file name of the file that was downloaded due to the file operation the user executed, be it View Document, Edit Document, Print Document or other.Below I'm sharing a small utility macro block that you can use as a base when writing macros of your own, plus a simple and generic macro block that will open whatever file that was downloaded. There is a customer requirement to add Document Revision title to the file metadata. This should be display as the Title in file explorer  

What is the difference between Approved and Released status for Document Revision?Document Revision once Approved can no longer be edited. What is the purpose / reason for then having to change the status to Released? Is there any harm / functionality misses in leaving a Document Revision in status Approved?

Hi all,We use Approval Routing for approving a NCR and have events attaching a Approval Template based when a specific NCR Type is attached.We want to make sure that noone is deleting or change the predefined Approval Template attached to the NCR.How can this be done? I have not found any solution using Permission Sets and no parameter to set either.As far as I understand it is not possible to fire an event from a RMB menu in the Attachement Panel either.Any idea anyone?Many thanks in advance!Best regardsAnna-Lena@Odfjell

Does anyone know how the parameter should be set „--cloudrealm” in the “FsMigTool”if we have a remote installation and not in the cloud? In the example from the documentation, the parameter "--cloudrealm ifscloudr2devcmb" is used and I don't know if this applies to every type of installation.

 The migration starts, but at the very end the above message appears in log files: „Error while cleaning up the virtual. Error while getting the token end point. sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target” and the whole thing ends with an error. What could be the reason for this? Where to look for the error?
