Upgrades & Updates

Hi everyone,  we are currently upgrading from APPS9 to APPS10. Today I tried to export the Overview Part Cost History as a CSV-File in our IFS10 test environment.  I got an error saying that I can only export a maximum of 10000 rows.    Does anybody know how to expand the row limit for a CSV-Export? I never got that message on IFS9.   Thanks in advance. 

Hi Team,   we  are occasionally facing this error while user try to login in IFS . we have four Managed server.    we are working on IFS8.   Please suggest what need to be done to overcome this issue.   Regards Suraj

Don’t laugh - I know, 2003, yeah!   Does anyone have a copy of the Data Import executable that allows you to load in new records, and update existing data in IFS2003. I cannot remember the name of it. Since my laptop rebuild, I have lost it! IFS support didn’t want to know. Thanks in advance.   TIm

Hi, We are upgarding APPS10-UPD3 to UPD7. When we are deploying it from Installer it is working fine without any issue and and no invalid objects. Its successful. But when we are deploying it manually using install.tem, there are issue and the upgrade is failing. Is there any more scripts we need to execute before the install.tem? hi, We are upgrading to V10, current standard reports in 8 needed to be imported to 10. Some suggested the version change is not an issue just needed to update the layout in 10. We have minor customisation on these reports and don't have developer license so cant do any changes to run in version 10.  Will the reports work as it is in v10 if no customisation done in v8 reports with customisation what are the chances report may work in 10 thank you

Hi, Did anyone upgraded or implemented IFS 10 in solaris. Which oracle version used and any particular issue come up during the project? Currently we are using Version 8 in Solaris, Oracle 11g planning to use 12c. Your feedback will be helpful. Thank you.

Hi all, We have an event on shopord.work_instruc_printed (apps9).   When testing on apps10, we realize that the field, work_instruc_printed, does not exists. We obviously have to rewrite the event, but can we somehow have it work on both 9 and 10?

Dear esteemed Members,   Our customer is planning to upgrade OS to Win Server 2016 Std or 2019 Std from 2008 R2 for its IFS App Ver 8 Sp2 instance. Apps 7.5 had a cool enhancement to Operational Reporting called ‘iPrinting’ which was a UK customisation. It allowed additional data to be pulled into a report layout which could then be used by Report Designer. This feature appeared to disappear by the time Apps 9 came along and I wondered whether anyone has come across this? Custom Fields offer some assistance but what they do not provide is ‘sub queries’ of data. e.g. Customer Invoices lines report the Lot/Batch Number of the invoice qty but I want to then show a break down of that quantity across the batches. This would require a sub-query of the inventory transaction history or something to show the separate lot ref and qty. I used to be able to do this using iPrinting but I can’t see way to do it with custom fields. Anyone got any ideas?    

Not able to view document in one entity out of multiple entities. Error:  Entity Instance not found. Is there any setting entity wise in document management.   PS: Issue occurred after IFS10 upgrade.

Is the IFS support portal down? I have tried multiple networks/devices and can’t seem to access it. Anyone else having this issue?  

Baseline a Project - Activity and Subproject Level I though IFS 10 gave us the capability to BASELINE planned hours/cost on a project at both the subproject and activity level. Is that not the case? We can only seem to do it at the project level.

Hello, We are considering an update from IFS Apps 8 to 10 and would be interested to receive guidance, feedback and lessons learned for companies using a similar industry and setup as ourselves.  We are a FM company so the emphasis is very much on the service side of IFS. We currently use the majority of Service and Maintenance module including Mobile Work Orders, 360/PSO, Route Work Orders and standard Work Orders.  In addition business support modules are also used Procurement, Financials, HR and Payroll. We have a fair few custom objects (Fields, Menus, Events) that have been developed over the last 4 years in addition to supporting custom Oracle APIs.  Anyone who feels they cover all or some of the above areas and has gone through the upgrade or in progress, please can you share your thoughts Many thanks Shaun

A: Yes, it’s possible to upgrade to IFS 2020 R1 from older versions of IFS, you do not specifically need to be on Apps 10 to upgrade to IFS 2020 R1.   Q: Is it true that under Extended Support, new fixes will only be provided for SEV1 and SEV2 bugs? So not all fixes are included. A: Extended Support included SEV1-SEV4 fixes. Just like in standard support only the merging of SEV1-SEV2 are included. Can I find information about upgrading an IFS database from 12c to 19c? From november 20 2020 we should have upgraded to 19c due end of support from Oracle on 12c.

We are considering Installing UPD 7 ( we currently run UPD 5 ). Anyone able to share their experience ? Any new problems encountered ?

Hey everyone, I wanted to drop in a question about a feature that was in IFS 7.5 but has seemingly left the building in IFS 10 in some form: In IFS 7.5, you could down on a bunch of Quick Reports, right click, and Add to Selection for any user with either read-only or editable access. This would allow for a quick return to the selection of reports for a user because they could simply click their selection on the left pane and get access to all of their pertinent Quick Reports.   In IFS 10 the same functionality exists but only for users who can access the editable piece of this (QR in Solution Manager). So while I can access this as an admin, a read-only user cannot access this functionality.   We of course don’t want very many users editing Quick Reports for security and integrity reasons, but then how do we restore the ability to Add to Selection for any and every user? Is this possible?  

Hi! A different project within the organization is implementing Applications 10 (A10), an engagement which involves both an upgrade (from v8), reimplementation of some features and utilization of new features. That implementation project is pressed for time and has little capacity to help others. While I am on a different project that is supposed to consume Asset and Resource data from IFS and then write back status updates (e.g. equipment shutdown/upgrades with according workforce reservations during planned periods). We are on a different schedule and will have to specify high-level design BEFORE the other project are ready to contribute much. Our integration this shall happen programatically, i.e. via application-to-application/machine-to-machine (A2A/M2M), e.g. via API/ReST/JSON pattern.  Now my question is this: Where do I look to learn more about recommended approaches/discussions of design choices, please?
