Hello, How can i connect a document class to document folder on IFS. Is there any way for that? Because I did not found any way on IFS v10.8. I want to do this; When i created a new document with selected document class it will be automatically connected a predefined folder. I can do this manually with document folder parts but it is so useless i think. Is there any better way? Thank you all. Kind Regards.  

Hello, There is a disabled RMB option “Outside Operation Complete at Vendor" when reporting outside operations (subcontracted operations) in shop order operations reporting. I know that we normally do this by involving a purchase order. When I referred IFS Online documentation, it says that the above RMB option can be used when the Purch component is not installed.     Can someone confirm that it means that RMB is always disabled if the Purchase (Procurement) component is installed ?   Is there a way (some setting or system parameter) to enable that RMB even if the Purchase is installed ?   Thank you in advance.

We manufacture demo units on a project. The unit might have the same part number as a normal production unit. The project pays for the manufacturing of the unit, but thereafter the unit is a company ‘asset’ in inventory as a ‘0’ value item to be shipped. When we issue the unit to the project, the project carries the cost, but the unit is not in inventory to ship anymore.  Except for a manual voucher, is there any way we can charge the project for the cost, and then make the item value 0.  Kind regards Gerbie

Through the Online Documentation I learn how to make Budget and Forecast Line in multicurrency. Budget in Multicurrency is set but every time I make PO and release it (my consumption Point is On Release PO) the PO always Consume Budget in base Currency (checked on Project Forecast snapshot and Project Budget Control Summary) even though my PO is not in Base Currency. What did I do Wrong or are there any step I missed? please some one help me

Hi All,   I have created a assistant with a input fields (lets say PartNo1 and PartNo2). I am trying to navigate to a page on clicking the okay button to a page which will populate the view “XYZ” on the basis of these PartNo1 and PartNo2.  Now I don’t have columns PartNo1 and PartNo2 in my view “XYZ” but i need to use them in where clause . So i am trying something like below example. For example :(this is just for examplory purpose) .projection file: query InventoryPartQry for InventoryPart { from = “XYZ”; where = “ EXISTS( SELECT 1 from ABC WHERE abc.part_no = xyz.part_no AND  abc.part_no_alt1= :PartNo1    and abc.part_no_alt2 = :PartNo2)”; field Contract; field PartNo; field PartNo1 {  fetch = “:PartNo1”; } field PartNo2 {   fetch = “:PartNo2”; } } Is there any issue with my where clause here.As i get undefined error in Aurena. Can anyone please share available documentation on IFS V10 Estimate Bid Management functionality, explaining how different options like configured parts, Sales Rules etc. can be used along with estimate management and connection to Business Opportunity / Sales quotation and Customer order. 

We are using IFS APP9. We are recently getting the above errors when a job for Perform Project MRP per Activity. The procedure used is ‘Pmrp_Process_API.Schedule_Mrp_Process_Act__’.  I cannot find any information in the database’s alertlog.  Could somebody shed some light on this?   Thank you.

Hello,  I am attempting to globally disable the Receive into Inventory checkbox on the last operation step in Shop Floor Workbench. I have looked through site settings and Basic Data, but I cannot find a location where this can be controlled. Is it possible to turn this off? Thank you.  

  We have created dummy location called “Damaged” in one site and moved some damaged stock to that location and user doesn’t want to show that quantity as available stock in customer order. Can you advice how to achieve this ? 

Is it possible to modify what the buttons do on Shop Floor Workbench? Or Add buttons? For example, we would like to change what the Report Tool button does.  Instead of opening a Report, we’d like it to open the Create Fault Report Window.   If that is not possible, could we add a custom button and name it Create Fault Report and have it link to the Create Fault Report window?

We recently migrated from Apps 9 update 8 to Apps 9 Update 16.  We have since been experiencing a problem with how our Shop Orders select a “Proposed Location” when entering the shop order.  In order to troubleshoot this issue, does anyone know how the proposed location is supposed to be populated upon shop order creation?  The IFS basic help does not address this functionality very well.  Thanks!

Hi guys,    Is there a way our site can render a previously used work center obsolete?   I don’t believe it can be deleted, since now closed works orders were actioned at said resource, so deleting it leaves an incomplete historical record. I need a way to raise an error message (if not purely prevent) us from assigning work to that loading cell.   Does IFS have this functionality i.e. equivalent to turning a work center off-line or inactive? if so, what window is this?     Many thanks, Jay  

We have an issue with stock availibility The MRP system works well, creating new shop orders when customers place an order giving an availibility date that is generally correct. However, we have an issue if the products fail testing. The customer orders cannot be honoured and its quite a task to undo and warn the customer. We have created a quick report which shows customer orders affected when shop order dates are changed. Now we would like an event which fires when dates are changed on the shop order, it runs the quick report and emails it to users. Is it possible for an event to run a quick report and email out?

Hi folks, I’ve found .ppts for Apps10 S&OP (which has a ton of features I covet, but we’re not in a place right now to upgrade), but I’ve not found any eLearning for the screen in Apps9.  I can obviously read the help screens, but they’re failry bare bones.    What am I missing? I’m missing the step-by-step data reqs for S&OP as they pertain to IFS. I realize we need the demand plan (we use demand forecaster client) but I’m unclear of all the screens of necessary data to use the inborn dashboard.

During our manufacturing process, we produce scrap. This is anticipated, as it is a result of stamping processes on our shop floor. A part will be stamped out, and the metal skeleton is collected and then sold to a metal scrapping facility. We have been setting this up as a by-product for each type of metal (stainless, copper, etc.). The issue we are running into is that our operators have to manually receive all by-product on the shop order. Is there a way to automatically receive by-product without having an operator need to report it during the Shop Order? Should by-product even be used for this scenario? I believe we needed to use by-product for the financial transaction of selling the scrap material: PN: 123456 produced 10,000 lb of scrap as a result of the mfg process, and it was sold to company XYZ for $6,000. 

Hi, I have created a Packing Instruction in terms of Pallets and Cartons that can automatically create a packing structure to ship a variable large qty of a part. The way it can create the packing structure is really neat. But does anyone know if there is a way for IFS to automatically procure the Pallets and Cartons (and any other packing materials) that would be needed for a Shipment. There doesn't seem to be a way of defining what’s needed in terms of Inventory Parts that would get picked up as a Demand in the system. I would like these to be ordered as and when required, in advance, so the packing structure for the Shipment could be created and the Pallets/Cartons ordered prior to actually packing the Parts. Unless I’m missing something it appears as if the actual packing materials are always assumed to be on hand in the warehouse. But I can’t believe that’s the case, knowing the capability of IFS. Hi guys, In ‘Shop Order Requisitions’, there are two columns called ‘Original Due’ and ‘Planned Due’. This determine the ‘Need Dates’ for the works orders that are raised by accepting the requisitions in question. In turn, dictating to APB (our CBS engine) what to prioritize when a trade-off is required given resource limitations.   How can those dates be changed? Namely, for SST items under planning method B/C.  For demand released by a customer or projects that would involve editing the required date, performing MRP and alignment via MRP Action Proposals.   How can we change the Orig. and PLD Due dates for SST items so they are called for now.    thanks, jay  

We want to provide a document with an Approval Template for the Sales Quotation and Customer Order. We have investigated that at the Document Revisions screen there is the possibility to assign a copy Approval template to the relevant document. Is it possible to have this function directly on the screen below? If so, in what way?  

Hi all, I would like to have some guidance over the development approach for the following layout in Aurena. I need to populate the details table on the basis of manually entering part no(s) . User may fill any of four part no.  and check-uncheck checkboxes in header and then click on search. After clicking on search , these values should go only in where clause of detail table (as the part no. in header is not directly linked with detail table below)   Do we have any such screen already available in Aurena? Thanks in anticipation    

We used to use the IFS Integration module but stopped when we could not agree licensing for Integration or OPG with Oracle i.e. it was going to be too expensive for us. We are currently looking at writing a custom interface (probably using APEX) but need to avoid the Oracle Primavera API's. Rather than writing everything from scratch have you information on the IFS Integration API's : What can we / cannot use by way of the API's, which ones call Primavera API's and which ones wholly use IFS code OR do you call some Primavera API's from within your code, if so what do we need to avoid? I thought we might be able to call some of your code from say APEX to create a custom integration instead of starting from scratch. Any information you can provide would be gratefully received. I hope I have explained the issue sufficiently."

The access to expense sheets is controlled by “Position – Access Setup” in IFS. This way, a project manager will be able or not to visualize the expense sheets connected to his/her project depending on the position of the employees. Customer would like that a project manager could have access to all the expense sheets that belonged to his/her own project. The only way knows to achieve this target is enabling all the project managers the access to all the positions. But, if define this way, all the project managers could be able to visualize every expense sheet of any employee in any project, even if they had not access to the project. Customer have tried to define a new “access attribute” adding as a column name a custom field, but it is not included in the value list. Also have tried to define as the “old value” in the “access attribute” a select sentence, but it is considered as an invalid value when try to save it.cannot use an event either because all want is to visualize, not to m

We have an error message that we are struggling to get past when creating shop orders via SFWB: 'Issuing could not be done because no inventory locations exist to drive negative without reservations for M-FACTOR’.   I have checked through the setup, nothing has changed - settings allow negative qty:   Setup is exactly the same in our DEV environment and all working fine there. Any thoughts?
