Hello all, I am currently looking into a way to create an Event Action to notify a user via Streams that a Routing is approaching a Phase Out Date. I’m not quite sure how to do this, as there does not appear to be a way to trigger the the Event. The Phase Out Date would already have the date and it would not be updating, simply lapsing. In the screen shot below, Ideally a Streams notice could be triggered to send 7 days prior to 3/31/2021. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

We have decided to implement price lists function in IFS.  Just wondering if there is a document that lists some best practices to be followed and some do’s and don’ts. Currently we use product family and product group 1 to categorize the products.Engineering/PDM..product number, product type is not used.I am providing this additional information that may or may not be of help to group the products and develop some hierarchy for search, sort down the road.

When we search on screen  the result data can be changes and saved there only.Is this possible ?

Hi All,I am recently involved to setup some 21R1 configuration in various environments. When setting up I encountered various issues such as not knowing which projections to be granted in order to external clients to work, most of them are IAM clients. Which projections to be granted, information was passed by the Product Development teams which helped us. But is there a way to exactly know which projection should be granted so that the external clients would work. e.g. AdvancedPlanningBoard, MaintenancePlanningBoardIntegration I think in Aurena client we can search by Projections by Navigator so inside the client if something isn’t working, we probably can grant these projections to a specific permission set so the purpose is achieved. 

Hi, our customer has a requirement to generate a rework order(shop order) in IFSinside the rework order, (1)It should indicate which component need to be dis-assembly(2)And record the actual dis-assemblied Serial No and re-assebmly Serial No(3)And record the time and cost. In IFS, is there any function can meet this requirement?  

Is there an automated way to substitute an operation across all routings and routing templates.  I have a new operation that needs to be replaced across all routings and some of these are not related to a template.

Good Morning, We are looking into using a Campaign to manage customer discounts. We have over 1000 customers and some of them get offered a 2% discount off our entire product range between certain dates of the year.We have set the campaign to a customer and applied the to and from dates along with the discount however it seems we have to list every item in a range in the Buy field? Is this a way around this so the discount will be put against the customer for the time frame against every customer order raised for them regardless of the sales part?

I am not able to find the Configuration Structure Graphic and Configuration Routing Graphic in Cloud. Is this available in IFS Cloud or is there a  new window that I should use?This is the IE exampleBelow are my options in IFS Cloud; I also could not find this in Aurena APPS 10 update 10.

When we do an MTR is there a way to set the UOM to 100 for a particular part number? Right now we have some items in packs of a 100 and if someone wants 99 we really need to just pull 100 regardless since they are small items in bulk packs? We can’t seem to find a place to do this, anyone? We are currently in Apps 8 moving to 10 at some point. thank you!

Hi, I have 3 questions on Element Designer.   In the Element Designer, there is a Form Mapping section. I would like to know how to use it. I found an example in the Bar chart ‘Vacancies Progress’ which is mapped to ‘frmTabHeadCountPlan.  But in the Head Count form, I have not found anything related to this lobby element… In the Navigation section, I would like to have information on the ‘Use own process’ checkbox and its Process id. In a Bar chart, in the Data section, what exactly is the ‘Transpose data’ checkbox for ? Thanks   Michel

In Product Estimate Management, user can register new parts (Component Type) and can transfer with following options.Is it possible to have an option to create Engineering parts in PDM? 

We have a request for implementing an interface between TeamCenter, the PLM system of Siemens with IFS10. Do you have it up and running or have you looked at it. I don’t need full specs here, more a sense of how difficult it would be to prepare such an interface or that it can be bought from a partner or Siemens. Hi,We are using planning method K (Blow through planning) frequently,  Sometimes the demand of the K-planned parts appears in Inventory Part Availability planning, producing alarms that we have a “Negative Projected Onhand”. Anyone who knows why?

When creating new Engineering Revisions, we need to copy the related spare parts in the same process. If not we will miss them as our structures are too complex. Example as follows. This is applicable for Copy Services also and there is no option to copy spare parts.Do we have any solid solution other than copy/paste objects.

Hi, I am very interested in how to control access to restricted documents in IFS, particularly ITAR. We are on IFS Version 10, UPD7 and use Active Directory Federation Services to connect users to their Active Directory accounts for login.  We have multiple companies and sites across a number of countries.   I am quite familiar with Document Access and Document Class Management using assigned person groups. However, the loophole is that a Document Control rep at one of our sites with access to Document Basic Data can inadvertently add a unauthorized person to a person group that is assigned to a restricted Document Class. I am also interested in the best approach in terms of the Doc Vault. We presently use Shared Files. Storing document files in the database is not feasible given the impact to system performance with the volume of documents in use across all of our sites. We are at the point of removing the restricted documents completely, storing the files in site specific file server

When scheduling a block of shop order operations in sequence, what logic is used to determine the sequence in which the operations are scheduled? Is the final sequence based on prioritization by Order Need Date, Operation Finish Date, Remaining Resource Hours, something else? 

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to generate a Project pick list - this would specifically cover items on the “Demand” tab of a Project activity. I’m hoping there’s something core in the application that work’s similar to the Report Picking of Shop Order Picklist functionality but struggling to find anything obvious in the application.Thanks,Andy

Hello, We are currently not using IFS part configurator and part serialization. We tried to teach ourselves in our test environment but haven’t been successful. Does anyone have a recommendation to get started with part configurator and serializing those parts? Thank you! 

Currently all of our raw material and finished parts use gallons as their UoM.  However given a change in our process, we have a need to reflect some of our raw materials as pounds or gallons, depending on the finished product.  We would like to create an alternate recipe that would be used to reflect pounds on the shop order by multiplying the finished product lot size on a shop order x the Qty per Assembly x the density factor on the inventory part.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, what settings on the recipe alternate are relevant and what value should we choose.

Hi,  Instead of reserve actual stock , can customer order line reserve to a shop order? 

Hi all,When we issue material to a shop order, we always use “simplified material check”. The problem is that if we have not issued more material than the required qty, we cannot approve the operation: The system will try to backflush the remaining qty and the Simplified Material Checkbox is disabled.How do we solve this?

Hi,Is there a way to make the Reported date to be a past date?The Japanese help says this field is automatically filled, i.e., the present date, but I want to have the past date.Seems a calendar can be shown and select a date in the past, but not reflected. Kind regards,Kokubo

I ran Perform ABC, Frequency and Lifecycle Classification for the first time in a test environment.  We have been on IFS for 15 months.  A majority of our items changed to C even though Inventory Basic Data is set to I aggregate inventory every month.  Is there anything else I need to do before running Perform ABC, Frequency and Lifecycle Classification?  Do I need to close Statistics Periods?  Is there any way to print the logic that was used in calculating the new ABC code?  This is our first time doing this and I’d like to this information for documentation purposes and for audit purposes.
