IFS Solutions

We’re working with a client in the Construction Materials sector. When carrying out Product costing on one of their main product lines, they use a concept the call “Equivalence”, under which for example, the standard product is an 8x8x12 block which has an equivalence value of 1 and a cost of $10, another version of the product is an 8x8x9 block which has an equivalence value of 0.75 and a cost of $7.50, and a third product will be an 8x8x15 block which has an equivalence value of 1.25 and a cost of $12.50.We’re trying to find a way of representing this costing method in IFS but none of the standard models in the system appear able to support it, has anyone encountered anything similar previously and does anyone have any suggestions on how this can be approached 

Hi,One of our client is using IFS 8 at on prem, we are trying to migrate it to IFS Cloud. To do that, would like to start with some POC, installed IFS Developer studio and connected with Azure VPN Client, when i try to create IFS Project in IFS Developer tools, it is asking to connect with Oracle DB. I provide our IFS Dev credentials (Ordered this environemnt through lifecycle.IFS.com), it says the error as Too long when i try to Test Connection. But I able to connect to IFS Dev server through Oracle SQL Developer. Please help me to connect it through IFS Developer studio. 

Hi ,After installing version 24R1.1.5, ZPL layouts are not functioning correctly in our environments. The customer is encountering issues with duplicate labels and partially filled labels with missing information. The same layout works as expected in version 23R2.The XML is receiving the data correctly, and the IFS standard report layout prints as expected. We have refreshed the report cache and updated the client metadata from the report definition, but the issue persists.The printed ZPL file body contains duplicate sets of tags, with the first set of tags missing values.Do we need to perform any additional setup for other plugin-type layouts due to the newly introduced time zones?Many thanks for your inputs on this issue.Best regards,Uvini

Hi,what is the best way how to do translations of new objects created in repository?Documentation (Translate Texts - Technical Documentation For IFS Cloud) talks only about changing already existent translations. But new translations must be done in different window (Solution Manager > Translation Development > Translatable Text).Method of translation is very complicated. In EE in IFS10 was doing text translations very easy and quickly.But this looks like step back to complicated work as it was with terms.So there must be some better way.Do you know any?ThanksBR

For a IFS9 customer we have created a makeshift solution to create Cambodian invoices in Excel, where the names etc in Khmer are stored in Excel tables and found using lookups, or as hardcoded prompts. I guess Oracle supported Khmer, but IFS not - so that was the solution.How is Khmer support with the Cloud version?We do not actually need the language installed as such with translations etc, but be able to enter various names and descriptions in Khmer. I take it for granted(?) that custom report layouts handle Khmer just like eg. Arabic.

Hi All,I am trying to call a REST API and it has Basic Authorization. User and password were defined in ‘IFS REST Task Configurations’ as the first step.My problem is, I need to create an ‘AuthHeader’ using User and Password in an inline script. However it looks like you cannot refer values defined in REST Task Configurations in an inline script.Although it is possible to hard-code user and password in an inline script, I am trying to figure out how to externalize user/password using 24R2 new feature ‘REST Task Configurations’.Does anyone know how to utilise REST Task Configurations for defining user and password for basic Authorization?

How to send incoming dispatch advice in shipment order

Hi ExpertsI am using the ifs cloud 23R2. i try to import an external supplier invoice including the attachment (PDF file) into IFS. Either the external supplier invoice nor the posting proposal has an attached document. does anyone have an idea where else to look or have a hint what else to try? When i check the application message i see that both files were imported correctly: this is the routing adress setup for the document and for the xml file the routing roule for pdf file the routing rule for xml file  in the external supplier invoice document files gets imported but stays in status loaded when i check the corresponding external supplier invoice and i click on attachement… ...i see that the invoice attachment gets recognized if i compare to a system which works (22R2) i dont have an attachment but I have different button “View Local File” and the imag file status has a status of “document not CheckedIN. and I also have a Imag File Name.  in Both system the routing adress and rule

Hi, If we install the Ubuntu OS nodes to IFS Cloud with the XFS filesystem on the sda disk - is this then automatically choosen on the virtual dynamic disks (sdb and sdc logical partitions) or will they be generated as virtual disks with EXT4 filesystem as default? We use XFS filesystem today on our default *nix platform - and are keen to know whether we can reuse this on the Ubuntu VM's for the IFS Cloud Remote installations. Best regardsCarl-Marius

  Keep getting this error when opening the Object Balance analysis window. Tred clearing the cache with below steps.a. Close all the opened IFS applications.b. Service quotations, different to Sales quotations, appear to lack the details tab of the sales quotation where payment terms can be specified.Has anybody come up with a workaround to this limitation or knows if there are plans to implement this functionality, before doing a modification.Many thanksDominik

Hi AllOne of our project Directors tries to authorize a POCO which was changed to a negative delta amount and he's getting the the error Insufficient privileges error message. This is how the applicable rule looks like: He previously succesfully authorized the PO, now only getting the error in POCO. What could be the reason? This is 24.1.1

Hello!A question about the redesign of page “Analysis Result” from APP9 (And APP10) to IFS Cloud. The question touches upon the same subject asked in this thread, but its not identical: Analysis Results Overview (IFS Apps 10 UPD 14 Aurena) | IFS Community The customer I am working with is upgrading from APP9 to IFS Cloud. In APP9 they are used to seeing the Result column, Inner/Outer Min and Inner/Outer Max in the same page as they Complete and Confirm the results. This is possible because the tab Variables is included in this page.In IFS Cloud they cannot see these columns in Analysis result since that tab has been removed and moved to a separate page : Instead they have to look here: But from Analysis Results - Variables, where they actually see the result, they cannot complete or confirm the analysis. They can only do that from the Analysis Result page and from that page they cannot get an overview of the results that they are about to complete an confirm. So the problem is that the

in “Non Conformance Report” you can connect objects, one of them being shop order operations.  for some reason the connected object description will not populate for the shop order operation. it does for the shop order though. Does anyone know why it wouldnt / how to get the description to populate?  

Why is 'CPEGEN_<null>List' shown in Advancedview and 'CPEGEN_<null>Selector in Selector in the custom attribute LOV added through page designer? The custom attribute is defined as a reference field.The customer attribute LOV is not populating with data.  

Hi all,This is to see if anyone else encounters this scenario and if they have a solution for IFS Cloud.We currently have technical drawings that are sent to us as PDFs and we store them within IFS Doc Man.When the file is being viewed, we would ideally like IFS to watermark these files with the document attributes (e.g. doc number, sheet number, revision number etc.)  Any ideas?Thanks,Zac

Maybe one of you has an idea how I could solve the following task:I am looking for a way to run certain SQL queries on a daily basis and then send the results of these as a PDF by email, as part of my daily monitoring, so to speak.I use the Smart Client for Windows in the following version:Release: 6 Update 25Build: 8597My idea would have been to do this with the menu item ‘Monitor Schedules’ as a daily job, but I haven't quite figured out how to do this, or whether there might be a simpler solution to my problem.Best regardsLars

Hello everyone, in the standard InstantInvoice report from ifs report designer, I want to make the field Description on a same line, or at least manage a bit more how the space is used in this report.Explaination : Description is filled with multiple infos (multiple lines in ifs cloud) :However when we print a report with multiple lines, they appear like this, even with Line Spacing at 0.1, remove extra spaces checked and wrap text without spaces checked.​​​​​​ Any suggestion ? Best regards

 When adding a reference field, the link provided doesn’t work to navigate to the proper page. When clicking on the Order No we go toAnd when clicking on the customer_no we go the customer page with no filter  The entity is configured as follows :    and some times, the refrence field doesn’t show a link and is show as plain unedited text. any idea why? Thank you in advance any help would be apretiated ​@kamnlk ​@dsj 

I am curious if IFS has any demos or documentation that could be sent to me that covers the basic purpose and function of the Document Management module in Cloud. If not, does IFS record their webinars? If so, can they be sent out to customers? Specifically I'd like to be able to view the IFS Apps 10 - IFS Document Management Overview & Demo from July 9, 2020, as I'm sure it would still be largely applicable for Cloud.
