Hey All,We do a good job having our software as items in our CMDB. We also have our printers and computers in as assyst CMDB also. On the hardware printer items in CMDB were store the print queues for printers in config characteristics. The problem is you cannot search for the serial no in the characteristic. We are going to be moving our printer queues as separate items with relations to the hardware. That’s easy. We want to also relate the print queue to the software it is used by.Question. What do people do when relating it to the software?The two scenarios we came up with were:relating all print queues directly to the Software item. creating another item called “<Software Name> Print Service”, adding relation for this item to the software, and relating all print queues to the “<Software Name> Print Services” item.Technically the majority of these software are running a service for printing but its creati

Hi everyone,I have a question regarding the use of onBehalfOfUser when datamapping and wonder if anyone else has experienced this issue, and if there are specific considerations or steps that need to be taken when using this?Whenever I try to use onBehalfOfUser in an Assyst Request datamapper, the resource returns as "Update Needed."I have logged a ticket on the IFS assystNet, but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what workarounds exist, if any.Thanks in advance!

Wanted to reach out and see if anyone that has taken the update recently is using the notifier build out for some or all of their email templates in lieu of or in tandem with smartmail?I’m interested in the potential for this and bringing more into the UI and managing there vs an integration server etc.One thing I had a question on was satisfaction overall with it, where you’ve seen any improvement or issues. Also, if you utilized action templates preivously how you were able to incorporate those with the new functionality? Even if not using in production anyone who has gone through the work of building out in dev/test as I am in the beginning stages myself.Thanks!

Does anyone have an example ETM datamapper that checks the existance of an object (could be an Item, Section, Department, Cost Center, etc.), and if it’s not found, to have it created?In the process of importing my Contact Users through ETM, we are providing the values for Section, Department, Building, Cost Center, Job Title, etc. The issue I am running in to is that there are sometimes values in the CSV that we are importing for something, we’ll use Section, that doesn’t exist in Assyst. What I am currently doing is exporting the list of existing Sections via the DMW, then comparing it to the distinct values in our CSV import, then manually adding any that are missing in Assyst. What I would rather do is create a datamapper that first goes through the import CSV, just looking at the Section column, and checking to see if it exists in Assyst yet. If so, skip, if not, create it. That way, I can get any missing Sections, Buildings, etc. added to Assyst BEFORE

Hi all,Has anyone found a way to prevent users taking action on closed events?I suspect this will require a new function on the Integration Server but before we go down that path I’d like to confirm there is no native way to configure this.I’ve searched through the available event privileges and reviewed action configuration but can’t see a way to complete the required configuration.We’re on assyst 11.7.4.

Does anyone have any advice on how to use the ETM to return a list of events that were closed 2 years ago. I can get a list of events, I am struggling with the date of closure parameter. I am then going to push these events through another datamapper which will remove sensitive information. I have tried using the “daysFromEventClosure” drop down with no success.

Hi Everyone,I’m trying to create tasks for each selection in a custom multi-select lookup field. We are running assyst version 11.6.3.In the process designer I have been able to create a Dynamic Task Expression for a single-select lookup, but I am unsure of how to get this working for values selected in a multi-select lookup.Here’s what I used as a dynamic task expression for a single-select lookup for a custom field called “ADHOC SINGLE”:  $new.W("ADHOC SINGLE").shortCode.   I have another field called “ADHOC MULTIPLE” where I can select multiple values.Any ideas?  Or is this maybe not possible in our version of assyst?Thanks!Jaco

Hello. I am looking for information on how to change the default logo on the new Event Monitor UI to our company logo. Using version 11.5.      I need help ughI created a process with an automated decision that brings the user to a manual decision with a Y/N answer.  For some reason, they can say no but cannot choose yes.  When they choose yes, the error below is what they get.  I went to the sub-process and the next stage is an automated email action which then goes to an auto-decision.  I’ve provided the two processes to show you. First process with auto decisionSub-process they can’t make the Yes Decision - Government Employee

I would like to initiate a process based on changes to data in a custom field. Is this possible within IFS Assyst? Specifically, I need to automate the creation of an authorization task when a project's budget is exceeded. Any insights or guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

A couple of things.(1). is there an OpenAPI file or URL for assystREST that can be used to create a Power Automate Custom Connector?(2) currently using Power Automate HTTP action and receiving “410” error code.  Looking for any legit authentication example(s) with such a scenario.

Is anyone allowing for Approvals/Rejections via email, and if so, can you provide a little info on how you are doing that. I’m able to allow my users to take actions via email to take the Additional Info and Chase Up actions, but the decision “actions” aren’t a clear cut and I’m having difficulty figuring that out. I have a requirement to link a newly created Service Request to existing Service Request using ETM. Complete process:I am triggering an ETM Channel on a task of Service Request. From this ETM Channel I am creating a new Service Request. Everything is working fine.The only issue is that I am not able to link this new Service Request with existing Service Request.Please help.

What is the draw to implement notifier rules via assyst inerface for managing email templates and rules vs the existing smartmail configuration a user might have in tandem with AP rules, etc?Is this considered Smartmail 2.0 in a more formal sense with the update?Trying to come up with some pros/cons to moving to this method if it reduces needs for managing in multiple places on integration server vs in UI, etc.Thanks,Mitch

Does anyone know the correct date format to use to update a custom date field via SmartMail/update_event_ejb activity?Per the wiki, it says it needs to be in the ‘YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss-OOOO ‘ format, which the value I’m passing is, but I can’t seem to get it to accept that date value no matter what I pass. I’ve tried the following:2025-04-08T12:00:00.00002025-04-08T12:00:00-0000date[2025-04-08 12:00:00.0000]date%222025-04-08T12:00:00-0000%22but none of these formats work.

I've added a custom field called "Project Hours", and I want the process to automatically take a certain path if the value entered in this field exceeds a specified threshold.To achieve this, I tried using the following condition in the Decision:$new.W("PROJECT HOURS").shortcode > 150 Unfortunately, this condition doesn't seem to work as expected. HiIs it currently possible to specify a list of users a user has the ability to execute REST requests on behalf of? As I currently understand it it's only possible to select a list of users who can execute request on behalf of other users, but not specify what users they are allowed to execute on behalf of. While the use of such privileges could potentially be monitored, and thus detect such usage this is reactive, and would not undo any damage performed by a bad actor.  The scenario I'm researching is the misuse of a etm assyst user (who would naturally have broader access  such as delete of assyst users (possibly deleting the admin team's accounts) or editing of privilege groups) to allow for a broad range of etm integrations.  Is this a correct understanding, or is there a method to limit a user to a select list of users they can act on behalf of of?

Hello, We are beginning the process of looking at upgrading our assyst version to 24R2SU2, and are investigating these three new programs: Notifier, Escalation Scheduler and Auto Close Scheduler. We have not been able to find much in the way of suggested configuration information on the wiki. The main question we have is when these programs are installed using the assyst installer, do they each need to be installed on all servers? “Notifier” if the only one of these that is checked off to be installed by default in the installer, so we must assume that for rule based notifications to work, it must be installed on all servers running the application? For Escalation Scheduler and Auto Close Scheduler to work, do they need to be installed on all servers or can they be installed only on our integration server(s) or on one server. Our setup is such that we have a number of web servers which are load balanced behind our URL, then a couple of servers which are primaril

We are working on a project and there is a requirement to create / inject a decision task into an already started process.For example, we have an action called ‘Cancel Request’ that is taken on the Service Request and it can be taken at any point throughout the process. When that action is taken, it currently closes the open task and the aim is to create a decision task with an attached process so that we can change it’s process path.Is anybody doing something like this already? We would be happy to use any method including API / ETM.
