We are trying to add a barcode for the work order number to print on the embedded work order copy.  They look fine in the crystal report designer, but when viewing them in IFS, the barcode either shrinks to a size that is too small to scan or it disappears entirely, all depending on the font size used for the barcode in the crystal report. We tried a different barcode font to try and installed it on the Windows server. We restarted the server to ensure the font installed properly. We tried different things in the crystal report to try to make it work, but nothing worked. We have tested and we can successfully print and scan barcodes on a Quick Report. Therefore there is something about the process that IFS uses when exporting the embedded reports to PDF that is causing the barcode formatting problem Anyone h

We want to analyze in which lobbies (and quick reports and events) a specific database field is being used, but we can’t find the queries used by lobbies somewhere in the database. Can anybody tell me, where these information can be found?

When I release a customer order that has a manufactured order line, it creates a shop order.   One of the custom fields on ShopOrd has a default value, but no record gets created on SHOP_ORD_CFT, so the default value isn’t set when the shop order gets created.   How do I ensure the SHOP_ORD_CFT record gets created when the shop order is created from a customer order?

Hi, My client plans to share Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application runtime manifest file for all our users instead of creating shortcut to the IFS landing page due to internal IT reasons.  Question - Every time we apply IFS Updates or Deliveries to the Application Instance, do we need to copy the latest manifest file again across client PCs or this isn’t required as the ClickOnce file is just a pointer which launches the updated IFS Applications IEE client automatically? I am 99% sure we don’t need to copy the file again but want to be 100% certain before we follow this approach. Thanks in advance!

Hello!   I can’t grant permission to sticky notes to the permission set. I’ve already gave ‘Activity’ ‘ManageNotes’. Any other ideas? It is frame “frmEmployeeEquipmentCard”. I know that’s question of security, because one user can with some permission set and other can’t with another permission set. Greetings, Gerard

Hi Everyone, We just got update 7 installed last week and I’m looking into the CRM. Does anyone know of any work instructions or flow charts on the setup? Trying to figure out where to start with the Business Representatives, roles, groups, etc. We are going to have higher level VP’s wanting to see all of their sales people on the dashboards and be able to drill into their teams. The regular help section is geared towards EE and not Aurena and there is nothing in the technical documents section. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mike

We have some users that rarely need to log into IFS only to approve. Is there an event I can enable to send stream notifications out by email? Thanks Bruce

We are trying to add a video file to the non-conformance screen in IFS.  The object connections are set to allow media type files.  The EDM basic data also is defined to allow media type of .mp4 The problem is when I attempt to attach a short video file named (production.mp4) to the NCR attachements, I get an error:  Am I missing some kind of set-up or could this be a bug?  I also refreshed the object connection cache and that did not work.  Please help!

I have added a bunch of documents to a selection (in Document Revisions). I may select one document and right click on it and select File Operations > Copy File To… and in the popup window Name Files Using… I may choose Original File Name (instead of Document Title and Name). But when I select more than one document I don’t get the possibility to choose the original file names. The documents are all saved with IFS generated file names. Would it be possible to, in one way or another, bulk export the documents with their original file names? If I am going to export ~50 documents it’s a time consuming process to export them each and each or rename them afterwards. They have to have their original filenames to match the names in another system.

I am on Apps 9 and we are running into an issue I can not figure out.  I have several internal customers complaining about the order their columns show up in.  They move them where they want them and the next day/few days later, they have shifted back to where they were.  It appears their preferences are not being saved in their User Profiles.  This is happening across the application, it is not confined to a few IFS pages.   I have checked the ColOrder on their User Profile and in many cases the Date Modified will not be correct.  I had a user contact me today with this issue. They told me they just moved the column this week and the Date Modified is showing 10/23/2019.    Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

Hi,   I have  question regarding security checkpoints. Is there some way to make the comments mandatory field in the security checkpoint dialog?     I can see in system parameters that there is a possibility to make the comments field mandatory in Aurena, but can’t find a similar setting for enterprise explorer.   Anyone that knows if this is possible or does it require a modification?

We’re looking to set up and use TouchApps in our Apps9 environment, and have managed to get several of them working OK using iOS devices. That said, I have a problem with the TimeTracker app where it errors when trying to sync during login.  It just keeps looping with the green sync running followed by this error. I’m not sure if this is related to security - there is no permission set script that can be generated from the TAS server - or if this is something else.   Can anyone provide any guidance or point me to some documentation I might be missing? Dear community,    When printing a report from IFS there is a setting that the users can choose per report, for Number/Date format. For example en-US for USA and en-AU for Australia. This obviously changes the Number/Date Format per the setting. (see example below)   I cannot seem to find where you can control this per user. Any ideas?   Thanks,   

We’re trying to formalize our support process for IFS tickets (i.e., more sophisticated than email/phone requests), since these are handled by a different team than our general IT support for users/infrastructure/requests. We are considering using Remedy for our ITSM since that’s what our helpdesk team currently uses - has anyone had good or bad experience with Remedy or any other ticketing system for IFS support? We’re also trying to figure out which tickets (beyond password resets and unlocks) can be easily handled by our helpdesk, who are from a 3rd party company and not close to business operations. What have other IFS customers been successful with?

Hello, are there some “rule of thumb” recommendations about document repository storage with IFS Apps?   Qualitatively, it’s sure that if there is a “big” total volume of documents and/or large individual documents, it might be safe to store on file server rather than as BLOBs in Oracle DB.   But the question is how big is “big”? Are there some metrics, returns of experience about this?

Hi, What would be the probable cause and resolution for this issue.   The Crystal Web Service has been set up on a test application server all necessary components and grants are in place from what I can see. I have tested the report services to pull back a report from an invoke which works fine but the application isn’t picking this up through the affiliated application pool. It references lack of permissions to the virtual directory but from comparison to Live it looks to be the same with the values changed accordingly.  

Dear all, I created a lobby element based on an IAL.  The navigation from the counter to the target-window does not transfer the result even if I use the option “Use data source condition”.  Instead the target window is populating all data. For “non-IAL” data sources the target-page gets the right values.   Is there a trick how to make that work for IALs?   Thanks a lot in advance!   Best Fabian

Is it possible to turn on history logging on a custom lu.  I want to be able to see if a user removed a record from the custom lu.

I have an end user that would like to have a note or document available to them no matter the screen they are on? Is there a way to attach a document to the user so that it is always there for reference? The document is currently a spreadsheet referenced outside IFS.

We are running Apps8 Sp1+. About every 9 months or so, our client user PCs receive Microsoft Office updates that put the file “msoshext.dll” back on the workstation.  This is an Office DLL that corrupts the operation of IFS browsing within the Doc Management browser. We usually end up renaming the DLL so it doesn’t interfere and all works well again. Has IFS ever addressed this issue?
