I’m attempting to rename a serial part (update the serial number) and am unable to.See screenshot for Fault Message: “the serial exists in Service Management and cannot be renamed.”Am I missing something. Are there steps that can be taken to rename this serial? There is going to be a salesman that returns from site with incorrect object information. An incorrect serial object will be created for new PM actions. We will need to be able to Rename the Serial Parts while retaining the history. I’d be grateful for any help or advice on this. Thanks in advance,Ed
When I worked on solution for customer I faced a problem as follows. When we are using Technician portal Maintenance Engineer and we have started to complete Work task assigned to Mechanics (I am a member of that Resource group), but we see that the task can’t be completed without completion of an additional task by Electrician, we have to create the new task for them. I was trying to use the functionality Additional Work - Request additional work that needs to be done and create Task for Electrician (I don’t belong to that Resource group), but I couldn’t assign this task to Electrician (I was able to assign the task just to the Resource groups that I belong). What can I do in order to overcome this restriction, that would enable me to assign the task to Electrician?
Hi All,Does anyone know why the repair parts cannot be unissued? If it is a system behavior, is there any workaround to unissued, as the user has used a wrong serial number and need to use the correct one?Thank you.
Hi Community,We would like to know why the pre-posting functionality is not enabled on the PM Action page? Our scenario is to update the pre-postings on the PM action level where we don’t want to go into the work order level and update pre-posting when a new workorder is been generated. Thanks & Best Regards,Nipun G

Hi, In IFS Applications 10, I would like to understand the correct way to set up Planned/Preventive Maintenance.I would like to know:1- What are the main steps to create a Preventive Maintenance process in IFS10?2- When creating Presentive Maintenance, which Maintenance Type should be used?-Electrical/Mechanical etc.-or Preventive / Corrective / Breakdown ?
Hi there 😀. The indicatior “create SM object” will create a serial object. My question is for the rental process:Doesn’t the CO in rental create a serial object? Reason is, that during the rental process service processes are needed and the asset should be available as SO. Thanks in advance again 😁
Hi,Does anyone have any video content or links to content demonstrating how POKA is used as part of a Preventative Maintenance program in a manufacturing organisation? We have recently acquired this software and are looking for how we would use it in our organisation.RegardsJohn
I accidentally deleted the entry. How to restore it?
Hi,When a new location is created on Service > Location with a Location Address, the “Position Address” is always automatically set to “Yes” even if I give an address informaiton that actually doesn’t exist. Would like to know why the Position Address is always automatically set to “Yes”?
We have registered new serial objects in IFS and enabling them for measurement. End-users are to enter meter readings through the Upload Measurements functionality in bulk. Keen to know if there is a relatively easy way to setup the Meter IDs in bulk for the initial setup. Thank you.
Hi All,When I create a new revision through Work Task Template, got the error message ‘The Purchase Part Does not exist’The Part No entered under the Material tab → Work List is a Manufactured type of Inventory Part. Need to know the reason of requesting a Purchase Part while creating the new revision.Thank you.
Are working in IFS app10. And we have added extra investment. but when we are activate the extra investment it will not go over to the objects base value (but it looks like the hole amount inc. the extra add investment are in the activating) - some bugg or ?
It seems both apps gets updated and the functionality seems to be quite identical. What is the exact difference between the 2 apps?
Within FSM (Service Manager), when we close a Task, the scope and the request are automatically closed.Within EAM, we have parameters to prevent this automatic closure.Which parameter can we modify so that the Service Manager doesn't close the request when the tasks within it are completed? We want to manually close the scope; we don't want it to work automatically. In EAM, it's possible to do this using the "Finish with Task" attribute, but I can't find it in FSM. Product Version: 25.1.3 Business Impact: Within FSM (Service Manager), when we close a Task, the scope and the request are automatically closed.
Hi Experts,In the B2B portal, contractors currently cannot update assigned work tasks. There is no way for them to add notes such as planned start dates, issues, or other relevant updates once a task is assigned. We need a clear way for contractors to update this information in the B2B portal to support effective monitoring and tracking of work progress. How we can do this? Seems the business need to fully rely on emails? This page is Read only! Thanks,KM
Hi, We have serialized Company Rental Assets in Inventory that are connected to Fixed Assets. What is the correct process if a sale or disposal of the Fixed Asset is required? Is the sale initiated from the Fixed Asset, or via a CO or both? ThanksJames
Hi The following material fulfillment use case relates to NGSM 25R1, and I would appreciate community feedback on whether this approach is considered best practice. If not, I would welcome recommendations on alternative methods or better-aligned best practices.Demand Creation by Field Service Desk: The Field Services Desk records the part number, quantity, and required need date in the Materials tab of the Work Task to initiate demand.SCM Review & Fulfillment Strategy Decision: The Supply Chain Management (SCM) team reviews the requirement to determine the most appropriate fulfillment approach. In this scenario, the decision is to handle the requirement through:Procurement Receipt into the central warehouse Completing required configuration on the part.Post-Configuration Handling & New Material Line Creation: Once configuration is completed on the part.:The Field Services Desk creates a new material line with the same part number, quantity, and required date. SCM updates the Su
Could you please let me know if there’s a way to identify a Work Order that as it was generated by the Work Order Generator, even in the later stages of the Work Order lifecycle
We have recently upgraded from 24R1 to 25R1 and noticed an unexpected behaviour related to pre-postings.Our WO have 2 code parts While we get the 3 other code parts from the object. Quite often users change the code parts for some of the tasks in the WO (other purpose and financial project)We have now noticed that when others later add a priority or updates the task with additional long description on the task the pre-postings are changed back to the values from the WO... This is causing a lot of frustration or us for the moment.Does anyone know if there is a system parameter we can change to avoid this behavior?
I'm working with two Service Objects in IFS, and both have an Operational Status of Scrapped. For one of the scrapped objects, IFS correctly prevents me from creating a new Service Request. However, for the other object—also marked Scrapped—I am still able to create a new request.I would expect the behaviour to be consistent, so I'm trying to understand why one Scrapped object is blocked while the other still allows request creation. Is there another setting or dependency that controls this behaviour? For service object 012125F15-PL107162560, I’m able to create a new request.I do note that the operation status doesn’t seem to appear on the Service Object, despite existing on the Part Serial: I’m able to create a new request for the above scrapped object. I’m not able to create a request for service object WP3235-45-STKWP-358-34 It is not possible to connect the work task to a scrapped object The other difference with these service objects are012125F15-PL107162560 - came in through migr
When Work Orders are created for PM Actions, either via the ‘Generate Work Order’ option on the PM Action page or through Calendar Generation, the resulting Work Order does not retrieve or display the Customer and Service Contract information from the originating PM Action. Currently, this information is only transferred to the Work Task level. As explained by R&D, this behavior is by design, since the PM Grouping function allows the creation of a single Work Order that may include multiple Customers and Service Contracts. However, we would like to request an enhancement from R&D to improve this logic so that when no grouping across multiple Customers and/or Service Contracts is involved during Work Order creation (from PM Actions), the system should fetch the Customer and Service Contract information directly from the related PM Action.
Hi all,We uploaded a long list of measurements for the object (~80000 rows). When we try to see them in IFS Cloud in the form Measurements for Objects we got error - question subject. Attachment meas_obj_1.But we try to have a look at uploaded measurements in the menu Measurements for Object - we managed to do that. Attachment meas_obj_2Letter ‘S’ - the difference between menu names - can’t be the reason I hope. Does anybody have any idea about the reason and the solution for the issue?
