If I am not mistaken, you cannot search for status if you have not defined the order type. Perhaps your initial query had an order type and by clearing it, it does not allow you to search for status values as some status are specific to order types.
Check your screen again when it loads your last view (or default view) to confirm if order type is already populated. You probably will need to add the order type field with Add Criteria to view this.

Phil is correct. You need to select order type like Service Order, etc. and then you will be able to select values in Status field. There are several search screens with similar functionality where you need to pre-select order type.
