Upgrades & Updates

It looks like it is not allowed to only scrap the parent object without scrapping each of the child first. Getting this Error Message when trying to scrap ….”All child objects in the structure must be scrapped before scrapping the parent”.  We are using SM objects and also upgraded to IFS 10.  It was possible to scrap this kind of parts in IFS9.  Is there any settings we have missed or has this function been changed in IFS10?

We are currently on IFS cloud 23.1.  I would like to upgrade to Cloud 24.1.  When I go to release update studio it will only give me the impact assessment for 23.2. I was under the impression we could “skip” upgrades and simply get the latest.  Do we need to take them in order or is there a way to just get the latest? 

Hi IFS Community, We are looking to move from UD17 - UD22, as part of the assessment for this move we have begun assessing the bugs that are fixed in UD23 and therefore would be open in UD22. The release notes provided by IFS are really high level, they’ve previously advised they would provide external Solution IDs for the bugs we want more detail on.I have tried to find more information on some of the previous solution ID’s provided but I cannot find any information online, example would be a severity 1 bug found in UD22,  An error message blocks the creation of an invoice in a service contract (Solution ID 307580).Can anyone please advise me on where information on these solutions can be found?Kind regards,  Matthew

We were told that there would be a 2 year roadmap or at least a statement of intent made available for review.Over time this seems to have dropped to a ‘roadmap’ covering the actual release and the next one.The last one I can find covers 23R2 and 24R1, how can I find what is due 24R2, 25R1&2 and ideally 26R1?

Does IFS have a plan/timeframe for adding Find/Replace functionality in IFS Cloud?

We have a user with a new laptop with Windows 11 and IFS 7.5 all windows (Customer window, Sales part window, etc..) are giving the error 'index was outside the bounds of the array error'.We installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2010 and still got the error.For some users with Windows 11 APP 7.5 is working. Please let us know what can be the cause of this.

Hi There,In Application 9 , when after updating from UPD 15 to UPD 17 , one of our customer is getting below client version switching window when loading some application component windows , in some cases if user is idle for some times in a particular window and re-load the same window, the client switching message appearing and that leads to restart the application by clicking the update button.Have anyone come across this kind of a scenario before ?  

Hi!We deployed IFS Cloud 23.2.0 into our environments. We see a new Kubernetes deployment named "ifsapp-docman-esign". We tried to find out if we need this component or not. If not we would like to disable it in config file "ifscloud-values.yaml".I couldn't find any documentation in TechDocs (https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/) or in IFS Community.Can someone provide a link to docs or some docs for this component?What is it for?RegardsTobias

Hi everyone,In a DEV enviroment, we just did a test upgrade from APPS10 UDP 7 to APPS10 UDP 19 and after the update, when I checked for invalid objects, there were two. However, I can’t get them to recompile. I’ve try doing it with the RMB option in IFS as well as directly on the DB. Still, I am getting the error 565 PLS-00201: identifier 'COMPONENT_TRVALL_SYS.INSTALLED' must be declared564 PL/SQL: Statement ignored565 PLS-00174: a static boolean expression must be usedDoes anyone know how this can be fixed?Thank you  

I want to throw a question out to the community. Before applying UPD releases in your production environments, what type of internal testing do you perform to ensure none of the IFS native processes are broken?  Such as logging on / off Shop Floor Workbench, Processing an Estimate, Opening/Closing Projects, etc.  These would be IFS core functionality, that you as an organization did not customize. We have only been IFS customers for 3 years, does IFS historically release bug prone software? We’ve experienced bugs with nearly every UPD we released.  The most impacted module for us has been the Estimating module.  Some background into why I’m asking. Our organization used to perform internal testing on the business processes using our AST scripts that we had developed during our initial launch.  Over the years, as we’ve had employee turnover and onboarded new users, this process became less fruitful and more of a box checking exercise for departments.  We would release updates, processe

When Creating an RMA we return an error message – Base sale unit price must be greater than zero!We have identified the issue, and it applies to package parts. It appears the total discount on the package header is being applied to the individual component lines within the package part which is resulting in a negative discount amount.When identifying the Package Part Structure for the order we can see the Price/Curr for each component has a positive value as seen below –However, when adding each component line manually to the RMA we can see there are differences between the pricing which has resulted in some components having a negative price and others having a significantly reduced price. This could have resulted in customers being credited the wrong amount if it wasn’t for the error with negative pricing.The workaround was to add the component lines manually, connect the lines to the order then adjust the price to reflect the component price on the package part structure.Attached is

What are the updated and advantageous features introduced in IFS 10 compared to IFS 8?

Hi, We as a partner are updating IFS application from UPD 10 to UPD 22 for our client. We would like to know the steps involved to do this update manually without the help of IFS.As a start we have followed the steps. Created IFS Case and apply UPD 22 and created customization package. Requested ifs for the latest config file and they gave us with UPD22 updated config file We have created build home by running IFS Config builder. Then we have downloaded the UPD extractor file from the customization package and opened this file in solution developer. Now we are at the step to Make obsolete, Merge and Check in files to harvest. Can anyone please let us know if the steps followed till now are correct and is there a document or set of steps that need to be followed to do this update of IFS application manually.Thank youRegards,Roshith Shetty

Hello,One of our customers has reported that their SSO did not automatically turn on after release update delivery installation. They had to reapply the settings in order to get it working again.Is this normal? Is there a setting that we can set in order to make SSO automatically turn on after a delivery?
