Functional vs End User Permission Set Uses

I was wondering if anyone could explain the core difference between functional Role permissions and end user role Permissions and maybe an example of how they are used. We are needing / wanting to better control IFS Permissions so I am wanting to create permissions based on Business Roles so all the Service Advisors will have the same permissions, the supervisors will have the same permissions etc.Would that be Functional or End User or am I required to create both?Thanks,

Custom Field

I am trying to create a Custom Field within the Case that pulls a Custom field from another Screen. I am fairly new to IFS development and mostly self taught so this has confused me as other fields that i created in a similar way to this have worked. Table 1 = cc_case_cfvTable 2 = Location I am wanting field (CF$_TEAM) to display in the CC_CASE_CFV where there is a match on CF$_Delivery_Location_ID (Case Screen) to Location_ID (Location Screen) This is my Select Statment: SELECT CF$_TEAM FROM LOCATION WHERE LOCATION_ID = :CF$_DELIVERY_LOCATION_ID what would I enter into the argument?

Lobbies with Filters

We are using IFS Apps 10, UPD 11 (Moving to Update 15 soon) via EE. I am wanting to create a Lobby with a Filter but unsure if this is possible. I want the User to have a Filter on the page that allows them to change the data showing in the Lobby Elements based on the Selection they make. Is this possible and if so, how do I go about achieving it? Thanks

Human Resources - Full Permissions

Hi,I urgently need to know how to grant our HR Manager, full HR Rights in IFS so she can do her role. She cannot see what she needs to see to create employees, to manage the employee files etc. what do I need to grant her so she can access the full HR element of the system?

Inventory Clean Up

Hi, I have tried running the ‘Cleanup on Inventory’ parts for the first time since we started using IFS and although I can see some lines have been removed, I am still seeing lots of Qty on Hand = 0 Can someone explain how I can run something that removes ALL zero qty on hand as of today?Also, the Date filter in the Clean Up - How is this working? Will it only remove lines that have been zero for the days specified?

PM Action Due Date vs Actual Finish Date

Is there a way of identifying the ‘Due Date’ of a completed PM Action? Once a PM Action has the Work Order Generated and Closed, the Due Date is removed and the Planned Date updates to the Date the Work Order was prepared.I need a way of knowing what Planned Date was so I can report ‘Required Maintenance in a Period’ vs ‘Completed Maintenance in a Period’. How do I best achieve this?

Work Order / Work Task Dates

Trying to close down a Work Order with the Work Task Actual Finish Date of a date in the past (02/06/2021).Once the Dates are entered and Saved, User does RMB > Status > Work DoneThis error appears: How does the User get around this? How do they change the Work Order Finish Dates to match the Work Task?

Requistion Status Change

Purchase Requisition created via a Work Order. All the Lines have been released and Authorised. The Requisition was converted to a Purchase Order which has been fully managed and shows at a status of ‘closed’. The Purchase Requisition in the Work Order is still showing a status of ‘authorised’ and user is unable to change the Work Task Status’s from Work Done to Reported as is getting the following message:Previously, once a Purchase Order was created and closed the Requisition would automatically change to a status of ‘Closed’ however this hasn’t and there appears to be no obvious solution to change to the status to closed. Can someone advise where we are going wrong?

Serial Object Supplier Warranty - Apps 10 Set Up

We have recently purchased some new Equipment that comes with a 2 Year Warranty from the OEM. We want to set up in IFS the Warranty Terms so we can ensure that any repair work conducted within the Warranty Period can be identified and submitted to the OEM as a Warranty Claim. Can any one provide some direction / documentation on how to set up Warranty on Serial Objects so we can trace repair work?Thanks in advance

Active Separate Custom Field View

Hi,For our solution, Prepare Work Order contains many Custom Fields. I want these Custom Fields to be visible via ‘Active Work Orders’. If I run a sql query on ‘Active_Seperate_CFV’ all the custom fields are returned but when I access via ‘Active Work Orders’ from the Navigator I do not have any of the Custom Fields available / visible. Is it possible to bring in the Custom Fields from ActiveSeperate into Active Work Order Overview? Custom Fields: Active Work Orders - None show under Custom Objects

Purchase Order Authorisation - Apply Rules

We are moving from PR Authorisation to PO Authorisation and I have created the Rules but they are not automatically applying. If I RMB → Fetch Auth Rule then it applies and flags to PO as requiring approval but how do I get the POs to automatically apply the rules?Thanks

Open Requisition Linked to Cancelled Purchase Order

Is it possible to reopen a Requisition linked to a Cancelled PO? A User cancelled a Purchase Order, but did not select ‘Yes’ to reopen the WO Purchase Requisition Lines. We need to reopen the WO Requisition so we can remove the Part Line and Remove the Material Line as it is still showing as required. Is this possible? Is there another way to delete the Material Line?

Automatic PO Creation from Work Order PR

Hi, Does IFS have the ability to automatically convert Work Order Purchase Requisitions to a Purchase Order? Engineers using MWO create multiple PR Lines that are currently manually created into a PO. We would like the System to do this automatically . Any help / guidance would be apprieciated. Thanks :)

Mobile Work Order (MWO) - Syncing

We rolled out MWO Service Engr App to 83 Engrs last year and have suffered so many issues regarding Syncs Times and Init Times. Every day when the Engrs go to use the tablets, they start a sync that always contains 100s and 100s of ‘messages’ How do I find out what these messages are so we can decide if they are all needed. Our base data is fixed and doesn’t change, we do not create new sales parts, new serial objects etc. so there shouldn’t be any messages to receive overnight as nothing changes. How can we work out what all the messages contain? Thanks,

Disposing of Sold Equipments in IFS

Hi,We are fairly new to IFS and still learning. We now have some of our equipment’s that have been disposed off. The Finance Team have processed them to remove from the Service Contracts and Fixed Assets but we are wanting to confirm the best way to remove the Serial Objects.Do we scrap them to remove from Inventory or is there a better Disposal Process to follow to correctly remove these assets as Live Assets in Inventory.Thanks,

Price Rounded for Service Contract Invoice Preview

Having an issue where an Invoice Preview is showing all prices rounded up. Example: This is listed as £75.56 which is correct. However, when running the Invoice Preview against the Service Contract this line shows as £76 This has happened on all Lines in the Service Contract - what can cause this?

Non Inventory Sales Line - How to Invoice from Work Order

Hi, I have a Work Order with a Non Inventory Parts Line. I can see it in the Sales Tab and I now want to report in the WO and generate the invoice. When I try to generate Invoice I get: How can I generate the Invoice for this type of PO? It works fine for ‘Part Lines’ just not ‘No Part Lines’

Not able to Generate from PM Acton Maintenance Plan

We have a user trying to generate a Work Order from a PM Action Maintenance Plan but the RMB → Generate Work Order option is not appearing. He is able to generate all others apart from 2. What would prevent a user from being able to generate the Work Order? Thanks,

MWO Failed Transaction - Work Assignment has already been removed by another user

Hi,My company is very new to MWO and unfortunately we have very limited understanding on Failed Transactions. I am stuck on an error that we receive quite often from various users. I have turned sync trace on for some users to see if i can capture the process steps that cause it but still not understanding. What does this mean:If i look at the Task No, the assignment does exist, for the same user that has generated this error so i have no idea what it means and therefore how to resolve.Can you help please?
