Quick Report

Hi all,

When I would like to create a quick report in IFS8, I encountered the following error message.

Is there a character limit in the sql expression?  If so, is it possible to increase it?
Or what could be the reason for the error message?

Thanks

Ozge

In IFS cloud it is +/- 4000 characters and I don’t think it is possible to make it bigger

@Ozge can you check if you are using a character that is defined in the system parameters?

Apologies, I dont have access to an Apps 9 Environment.

Check the parameter values - and also check column data types for any reads / select statements.  Make sure the report has taken into account any possible data type changes between Apps 8 when the report was first designed and when any updates to tables, views or other database objects have been made, i.e. by customizations, etc.

Hi @Ozge

when exactly do you get this message?

After processing?

Can you provide the SQL you’ve tried?

Hi all,

I was getting the error message while saving the quick report. The problem occurred since the character limit was exceeded, so I solved the problem by decreasing the limit to under 4000 characters.
Thank you very much for your responses.
