The documentation for validating EU tax numbers are suppose to be stored for documentation purpose. IFS is able to do the validation in the VIES database, but does not store the Validation ID for documentation purpose. Have anybody found a solution for this and does IFS obtain a validation ID when requesting in the VIES database?

Did you find a solution for this?

Hi,

vies does not support a qualified verfication using Name and Tax Id  for validation.

It simply returns a yes EU Tax Number Exists or NO it doesn’t.

Check a VAT number (VIES) - Your Europe (europa.eu)

@KRTI  No, we did not find a solution.

@Ralph Gericke It has nothing to do with the Name.  It is a simple verification of the number and a documentation for the number to be valid.

Hi BRSA,

as you mentioned it is a simple verification. The result is true or false. If the number exists you will have a date saved in the “Tax ID Validated Date”. There is by design of VIES no return information that can be saved.

If it is not valid you receive an error message and nothing is saved in the “Tax ID Validated Date”.

In Case you would like to enter some more information you might consider adding a custom field there.

Kind regards

Ralph

@Ralph Gericke The simple question I mentioned is a below

IFS is able to do the validation in the VIES database, but does not store the Validation ID for documentation purpose. Have anybody found a solution for this and does IFS obtain a validation ID when requesting in the VIES database?

The explanations you mentions, does not answer the question or help in any way.

What I need IFS to store is the request number. :
