External File Definition Validity Issue

After creating a  external file type & template, when I added another record type with different view and checked for definition validity of template one error message comes up . Besides, external file template turns into invalid. Screenshot is attached here. 

Could anybody please suggest me about the issue here ???

Hi Mohsin, 

 

You should change the sub forum of your question from Data Migration to Finance. Your topic is more related to Finance. This may be the reason you still have no answer to your question.

If you haven’t yet received an answer - 

  • On the Input Files tab, RMB and select External File Template Control to define control statements

Help specifies:

  • If an external file type consists of more than one record type then it is necessary to define control statements, making it possible to decide the record type that each file line is associated with. The record type then makes it possible find the detail instructions to be used when unpacking the file line.
