Manual SQL in Export Template Wizard

Hi we currently use V14.5 but soon to move to 15.4.

In V14.5 I frequently use the Manual SQL part of Export Template Wizard to create and run simply SQL, which is very handy.  I just tried to do the same in V15.4 but cannot find this option, so am wondering how I can run some SQL in V15.4?

This is what I use in V14.5…

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

You should be able to do this in 15.4 SU2 which I believe is what you are using:

To test this, I did the following:

Created a new template below.  Note, I told it I was using SQL and not BO and select a random document (ABC in this case).

From here, I inserted the SQL in the next screen on the page SQL Mapping:

Clicking the three dots, select the option Check SQL:

The query is executed and displayed.

Hope this works for you.

Hi Phil,

That seems Ok for a bit of ad-hoc SQL but is there any way I can run the many .etf files I created in V14.5?

Hi Chris,

I thought your question was how to run simple SQL from the UI not re-using your export templates you already defined.

Though I have not tried this, you could attempt exporting the Export Template from v14.5 which creates an *.etp file and then import this into v15.4.

This information came from the Integration Guide.pdf that comes with Alliance.

Thanks Phil,

I’ll give that a try.

Hi Phil,

After trying it out, I found the best option was to use your first suggestion.  I was able to copy/paste my existing SQL into a new template and then save it.  Thereafter I can recall it when I need it.

Thank you
