Upgrades & Updates

We are currently running IFS Apps 10 Update 15 with TAS all on-premise.  These would take 1-2 hours to install.  In the past, we had been able to run the update deliveries ourselves without issue.I can’t say this for certain, but we believe since IFS went evergreen with UPD’s, we started having this problem during deployments.  Our deployments now take 6-8 hours, and fail with an error.  This errors appears to only impact TAS, otherwise after deployment is finished with errors IFS appears to function.  During the update, it sits at a screen trying to update the locked files.  During the update and after, we have checked for locked objects or blocking sessions and see nothing.Has anyone ever ran into this problem before?  We do NOT receive this when we deploy updates in our DEV environment.  Our DEV environment does not have TAS installed in it, so we thought unregistering TAS from our TEST environment and running the update would be a work around but unfortunately we still received thi

Our customer has done a vulnerability test on their IFS servers and it shows that the following patches are required:- Management Server - Install patch for Microsoft Windows Server 2019 17763 (Server)- DBMS Server - Install patch for Microsoft Windows Server 2022 20348 (Server)- DBMS Server - Update Oracle Database Server to a version newer than 35949090Can anyone please confirm if IFS Cloud 23R2 is compatible with these patches ?

We have IFS App9 running on a Windows 2012 server but the business has decided that we need to upgrade the server to Win 2022 as 2012 is no longer suported.They want to build a new server and then MOVE IFS over to it.Is there a way to move the entire existing IFS build from one server to another?Not just the IFS_HOME but also the entire Middleware software as well?Thanks

I have a virtualized instance of IFS Apps 10 running under vmWare workstation on my laptop, fully updated to UPD18 and, as a time saver, wondered if there was a proven and safe way to “move” this copy of IFS_HOME (the middleware server folder structure) from one server to another? If anyone has any experience with this process, please share as I do not relish starting over on the new server. Regards,Bob 

We are currently in the process of merging UPD 10 to UPD 22 for our customer. While we have successfully completed the UPD extractor step and performed a delivery, we are encountering errors in the EXT files. We are presently working on the UPD analyzer merge.Can someone assist on how to proceed with resolving the EXT file errors? Enclosed are the error screenshot for your reference. 

I have updated my cloud environment to 23R2. On DBInstaller and MTinstaller, no errors were found. We are working with a customer upgrading from Apps 10 to Cloud. I notice that in the report definitions the crystal rpt files are not assigned against the report definitions, other than manually uploading the files for each definition and report is there a quicker way of matching the rpt files with their definitions?

Could someone please confirm whether reconfiguration is no longer necessary for applying SSL renewal in the IFSAPP 10 environment? We are currently working on upgrading to 23.2.6 (remote deployment).  The middle tier server image files are no longer showing under “manage deployments” in the LE build place.  Our current application version 23.2.0 is running on OVA 2.0.1, but I’m pretty sure I saw that new SUs were running a newer middle tier version before we lost access to the dropdown list previously showing under manage deployments.  The bootstrap and binary downloads are still there, but the OVA dropdown seems to have been replaced by Oracle version package downloads.  Any idea where they went? 

Hi All,Anyone with experience in upgrading from IFS Apps 10 Aurena Permission sets to IFS Cloud permission sets?  Is it a full rework or can it be upgraded?I know if it is IFS EE to IFS Cloud then it is a complete redo, but guessing we can salvage a lot from Aurena permission sets to Cloud permission sets.Regards,Malik

Hello, My topic stands in the context of a migration project from APPS7.5 to IFS Cloud 23r2.It seems that module "Support Center" that was part of the APPS7.5 solution no longer exists in IFS Cloud.What the replacement module in IFS Cloud ?Do the core upgrade scripts handle this module (at first from 7.5 to APPS10, at second from APPS10 to IFS Cloud) ? Thanks in advance for any answers.Best Regards.Hervé

I do recive notifications in IFS Cloud, but I am do not recive any email. I have already check my email addres, to make sure it is right, and it is. Hi,If i understand well, with a major release bookmarks will be deleted. Is there another way to keep or copy them than copying them one by one for each user profile (i don’t even know if this will works after the update)? Regards,Pierrick

Hello, we have IFS UPD20 running on Windows Server 2016 and need to upgrade to Windows Server 2022. Is an in-place upgrade supported or is a clean install preferred. Obviously a lot more work to re-install everything. I asked this question through support and was directed to this community forum. 

According to the Kubernetes documentation We are aware that the K8s certificates, which is used in the IFS middle tier, will expire in one year.This is a concern because it may cause the environment to become inaccessible without any prior notification.Therefore, we would like to know• What the IFS recommended way is to check the expiry date of the K8s certificate.• The IFS recommended method for renewing the certificate.• Any other certificates related to the IFS middle tier that we should check?
