Upgrades & Updates

Hello,We are about to begin an upgrade project from IFS9 to IFS Cloud. Originally, the project was scheduled to start in January, but it was delayed due to planning on the customer's end. During January, we had already set the upgrade build home to version 23.2.5.With the release of 24R1, we are considering performing a release update on the lifecycle portal and recreating a new build home for the upgrade from IFS9. However, we are concerned about whether this update will impact the upgrade scripts that are currently set in the 23.2.5 build home.Has anyone encountered a similar situation, and could you provide advice on the best steps forward?Thank you,Hardik

I work for a consultancy company, around 13 months ago we installed our own hosted versions of IFS10 and PSO. Both of these solutions are hosted on Azure, they are key in helping us work with our IFS customers. They are used for proof of concepts, demonstrations and learning. These environments are non-productive and used to help us sell IFS products and build solutions for customers.I joined the company 11 months ago after these environments were setup, I’m confused with the process of how to keep these environments up to date with new releases. I’ve spoken with our partner success contact and they are not sure on the process. I’ve created a ticket with Osca under our partner account, this ticket was closed once it got passed to support and I'm unable to see the progress of it.From training I've done on IFS academy I've seen updates become available via an FTP portal? Hi All, We are in the process of migrating from APPS8 to IFS Cloud and I’m having trouble updating a particular user profile so that I can use it to access IFS Cloud. I have chosen one of the simplest users (minimal screens/functions available) which requires minimal modifications.I have allocated the appropriate, I think, Projections to a Permission set for this user but when I try to log on I get a number of popup windows with errors relating to Profile and Person info.See below:- Can anyone point me in the right direction to help resolve my difficulties with logging on to IFS Cloud please? Cheers,Neil.

Hi all,Like us, have you noticed a deactivation of the background jobs following a delivery?Since Sunday 08/18/2024, background jobs are not processing  after a delivery and we must reactivate them manually.Previously, we did not need to reactivate jobs.It's very restrictive. RegardsIFS full managed Cloud23R2 SU7

Hi,In Oil and Gas extension in App10 and prior, we have a functionality that when receiving a purchase order (PO), the PO number is copied to W/D/R number in the corresponding inventory transactions and inventory part in stock. This makes possible for us to track inventory for Transport, tax, return purposes etc..As Oil and Gas extension has become a core functionality in cloud, I wonder how the above functionality is implemented. Is it as same as before or a new column is used to track the PO information?

We are currently in the process of upgrading to 2023R2.  We are having issues with building our Baseline environment.  IFS is working on it.  Does anyone know if we can safely proceed with Release Update Studio Completion before Baseline is created successfully?

Dear All,We are currently working on upgrading two IFS Managed Cloud customers, one running on IFS 9 and the second one on IFS 10, to the IFS Cloud version. As you are aware, the upgrade needs to be performed on an interim environment. Once the upgrade is completed, we have to return the database to IFS Managed Cloud so they can import it into the new production environment (IFS Cloud) in IFS Managed Cloud.What we have experienced is that exporting from the source database (either through RMAN level 0 backup or Oracle Data Pump export) takes nearly a day or more, making it difficult to plan the go-live cutover. Therefore, with this post, I would like to inquire if anyone else has encountered a similar situation and if there are any tips and tricks to reduce the export time from the source database (hosted at IFS Managed Cloud). Good day all,Currently, we are using IFS 9 and we create cases and then generator Work Orders to return products.1- We generate a WO2- We enter the part numbers and receive them in3- We then diagnose the product(s) and issue credit or no credit or ship back.4- We currently used tiered data to specify what the issue was with the product, Electrical, etc and have about 5 different tiers.Is there any functionality like this in IFS Cloud under the RMA area? I only see a section for notes.Thanks,Doug     

Could you please clarify whether installing a UPD in the IFAPP 10 application can cause permission sets to be removed from structures? We need to understand the potential impact of UPD installations on application permission configurations.Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I need to understand if IFS Apps10 is ISO compliant and if IFS have any documentation that details this.I found the attached documentation regarding ISO certification but this only covers Cloud and I need to know if Apps10 is also ISO/BSI compliant.

We are currently running IFS Apps 10 Update 15 with TAS all on-premise.  These would take 1-2 hours to install.  In the past, we had been able to run the update deliveries ourselves without issue.I can’t say this for certain, but we believe since IFS went evergreen with UPD’s, we started having this problem during deployments.  Our deployments now take 6-8 hours, and fail with an error.  This errors appears to only impact TAS, otherwise after deployment is finished with errors IFS appears to function.  During the update, it sits at a screen trying to update the locked files.  During the update and after, we have checked for locked objects or blocking sessions and see nothing.Has anyone ever ran into this problem before?  We do NOT receive this when we deploy updates in our DEV environment.  Our DEV environment does not have TAS installed in it, so we thought unregistering TAS from our TEST environment and running the update would be a work around but unfortunatel

Our customer has done a vulnerability test on their IFS servers and it shows that the following patches are required:- Management Server - Install patch for Microsoft Windows Server 2019 17763 (Server)- DBMS Server - Install patch for Microsoft Windows Server 2022 20348 (Server)- DBMS Server - Update Oracle Database Server to a version newer than 35949090Can anyone please confirm if IFS Cloud 23R2 is compatible with these patches ?

We have IFS App9 running on a Windows 2012 server but the business has decided that we need to upgrade the server to Win 2022 as 2012 is no longer suported.They want to build a new server and then MOVE IFS over to it.Is there a way to move the entire existing IFS build from one server to another?Not just the IFS_HOME but also the entire Middleware software as well?Thanks

I have a virtualized instance of IFS Apps 10 running under vmWare workstation on my laptop, fully updated to UPD18 and, as a time saver, wondered if there was a proven and safe way to “move” this copy of IFS_HOME (the middleware server folder structure) from one server to another? If anyone has any experience with this process, please share as I do not relish starting over on the new server. Regards,Bob 

We are currently in the process of merging UPD 10 to UPD 22 for our customer. While we have successfully completed the UPD extractor step and performed a delivery, we are encountering errors in the EXT files. We are presently working on the UPD analyzer merge.Can someone assist on how to proceed with resolving the EXT file errors? Enclosed are the error screenshot for your reference.

We are working with a customer upgrading from Apps 10 to Cloud. I notice that in the report definitions the crystal rpt files are not assigned against the report definitions, other than manually uploading the files for each definition and report is there a quicker way of matching the rpt files with their definitions?
