Cloud Command through IFS Developer Studio

We are going to be switching over to the cloud and we have a few implementations that we are going to try to get inside IFS using the Developer Studio.  I have been testing a few different things out to get a better understanding on everything.

I am having an issue with a command.  In my first case, if I Override the page, add a command group and command it will display on the for Form.

In my second attempt, I am just trying to get the command to display in the Commands list so I can add it via the Page Designer without overriding the page.  But this command does not show up in the list of commands.  Am I missing something here?  Can it only be done the first way that I mentioned?

Appreciate any insight anyone may be able to give.  I am testing on 24R1.

Thanks

@hansend After looking at the documentation and the CORE SupplierForPurchasePart client, it looks like the commands must be used somewhere in the main client or included clients (like fragments).

There are hints at this in the documentation which states: “The All Elements section contains all the shared elements in the loaded client model.  This is the elements referenced by the active page as well as the other pages found in all pages.”

Also, if you look at the available commands in the Supplier For Purchased Part page, you can see that each command’s Name property has where it’s used.

TransferInventoryPartCommand is in the ConditionCodePricingList which is in the SupplierForPurchasePart client.

AnalysisResultCommand is in the QmanControlPlanPurchSingleton which is used in the Form definition in the SupplierForPurchasePart client.

@hansend looking at what you’re trying to achieve, I don’t think you need a mod for that.

I believe could simply open Page Designer and add a navigation command from SfPP → Create Purchase Requisition assistant.

@Tracy Norwillo Thank you for the help!  I will take a look at that solution.

@Marcel.Ausan I appreciate you letting me know about that.  I will reach out to our Analysts to let them know about this being in the Cloud.  The main difference between the one in IFS and this one we are trying to implement is that it limits the parts to the vendor a user has done the RMB (Action in cloud terms) on instead of displaying them all.  But maybe the extra filter will not be worth the time and/or maybe we can customize that assistant.

Thanks to the both of you!

@hansend  Maybe I misunderstood your post.  I thought that you were trying to build your understanding of adding commands in IFS Developer Studio.  You seemed to be wanting clarification on why your command didn’t show up as an available command in Page Designer.  I provided examples showing where the commands are associated with the main client.

If you’d like to add the command within IFS using Configuration, then Marcel’s directions are the ones to follow.

There are some ‘tree shaking’ going on when the client model metadata is prepared. If you have defined elements in the client file that is actually not used in any top level element, then they are removed from the meta to save size.
