Dear Connections,

In IFS’ standard cloud application, the Incoming Dispatch Advice is not particularly helpful when working with inbound sea freight operations. We have a requirement from one of our customers, where the customer procures material from overseas suppliers. As transit times via ocean vessels are quite uncertain these days, the final arrival date at the warehouse often changes. In this scenario, our customer wants to track the inbound shipment status.

Additionally, a single vessel may contain multiple orders from multiple suppliers. However, in IFS, we do not find an option to perform receipt for multiple orders from different suppliers within a single shipment or dispatch advice. This is because the standard Incoming Dispatch Advice functionality only supports multiple orders from a single supplier.

Is this something on the Road Map for the future IFS cloud releases?

I appreciate your comments and suggestions on this.

Hi,

I have some input here not sure at all if it will help you?

In recent IFS Cloud version at least from 24R2, we have added the Consolidated Shipment ID to the Incoming Dispatch Advice. This can be used as an ID keeping many Delivery Notes going with the same transport vehicle / boat together:

Another option would be to take ownership of the material far away by receiving all purchase orders into arrival location in a remote warehouse and then use the Ship command to ship it to the site:

This will create shipments that can be gather in a Consolidated Shipment and then later received when it arrives to the final destination.

Best Regards

Fredrik
