Page Designer in IFS Cloud: why some fields are not obey Page Designer settings?

Hello,

I am trying to change the place of some fields in list form Document Revisions. I am changing the field place via Page Designer, but the layout doesn’t react:

  • The field “Reference” is ant the end of the list form
  • From the bottom I moved it upon “Archive No”, but it didn’t change the place in layout, still stays as the last field:
  • Selected Preview, but nothing changed
  • Saved, bust still the same situation:
  • Published, but nothing changed:

What is the reason that some fields in the lists do not react to the changes made by Page Designer?

It could be that you’ve also rearranged those fields using the Column Chooser, which ends up in your user profile. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about rearranging field order in lists using the Page Designer, because users can do that themselves. You just create additional work for yourself rebasing page designs during future release and service updates.

You need to add any custom fields on using the Page Designer, of course.

Morning Lina,

After making your changes in page designer, open Column Chooser and click Restore Defaults. This will reset the column chooser settings in your user profile, and re-set them to match the page designer settings.

However, I fully agree with AussieAnders that there’s not really much point in making these kind of edits as users can (and probably will) set the columns the way they like anyway
