We need to define Data Archive Object for GL tables (MPCCOM_ACCOUNTING_TAB and GEN_LED_VOUCHER_ROW_TAB) and other related tables. Please help to find a related tables for this task.

For example, I’m expecting something like this.

Hi @Lakmal

what is the reason and the target for archiving the General Ledger?

I know there might be many reasons, e.g. saving storage, legal requirements, decrease the amount of records before performing a technical upgrade etc.

Why not using the standard functionality within IFS Applications:

This will move the records of GEN_LED_VOUCHER/GEN_LED_VOUCHER_ROW for a specific company, year and period from the IFSAPP_DATA tablespace to the IFSAPP_ARCHIVE_DATA tablespace.

This functionality also exists for the internal ledger (INTERNAL_HOLD_VOUCHER/INTERNAL_HOLD_VOUCHER_ROW).

The good thing is that you are able to see the archived data within the IFS client.

Dou only want to archive GL or also the related sub ledgers (e.g. fixed assets, payed customer/supplier invoices/payments)?

Another option could be to think about Oracle Partitioning but for this an Oracle Enterprise Edition is needed.

/Jens

Hi Jens,

We want to decrease the number of records before performing a technical upgrade. Hence, it is better to delete the associated subledger records along with the GL records.

Thank you for your answer.
