Hi All,

We’re using IFS Apps 8 and want to change the ownership to ‘Company Owned’ from ‘Customer Owned’ for the Inventory Part: G-004614.

As per our investigation, one can change/changes the ownership only if On hand qty is not equal to zero and if the Purchase was made incorrectly at the PO line or while issuing the parts in WO or Internal Demand orders viz. Material Requisition, MMR.

This is a Serial Tracked Part and we’ve tried to change the Ownership at Part serial record screen.

Attaching the reference document, any suggestions on the above step or approach will be much needful.

Based on the error message, it seems like you have not allowed part ownership transfer for the customer that currently owns the part.

Can you check this setup on the Customer record in the Order/General tab? There is a checkbox called ‘Allow Part Ownership Transfer’.

Based on the error message, it seems like you have not allowed part ownership transfer for the customer that currently owns the part.

Can you check this setup on the Customer record in the Order/General tab? There is a checkbox called ‘Allow Part Ownership Transfer’.

Many Thanks for your assistance.

This has worked and the ownership got changed from 'Customer Owned' to 'Company Owned'.

However, adding to this there was an automatic creation and closure of Purchase order for the same part when the ownership was modified.

The new PO had the same Part order line but with ownership now as 'Company Owned'.
