Is there a way (in V8) to know the tool instance which has been used in operations of a shop order ?

Unfortunately this is not possible in apps 8.
The possibility to report what tools and tool instances that where actually used on a shop order operation was introduced in apps 10.

+9If the requirement is to identify in what tool instance the operation is scheduled, AND if you use APB, then , the APB will schedule operations in specific tool instances. The respective tool instances can be seen in shop floor work bench/CBS resources tab. This is available in APP8. But if you are not using APB already , enabling APB to for this purpose only may not be an option.
