Does anyone have any recommendations on brands/models of wireless scan guns for the warehouse? We will be running IFS Cloud.

If you’re using WaDaCo with IFS Cloud, I’d recommend sticking with rugged enterprise Android handhelds / scan guns rather than generic some of the generic  Bluetooth scanners on the market.

The main brands I’d look at are:  Zebra, Honeywell, Datalogic, Bluebird, and i.safe MOBILE.

A few practical points:

For a standard warehouse, the strongest options are usually Zebra, Honeywell, or Datalogic because they’re built for high-volume scanning, rugged use, battery swaps, cradles,  some with pistol grips, and Wi-Fi roaming in the warehouse.

Bluebird is also worth considering if you want another Android enterprise option, especially where price is a factor.

i.safe MOBILE IS540.1 is more of a specialist choice. It makes sense if your warehouse or stores area is in a hazardous / ATEX environment. I wouldn’t usually put it first on the list for a normal warehouse, but it’s a valid option where intrinsic safety is required.

For WaDaCo, I’d focus less on brand name and more on whether the device meets these basics:

  • Supported Android version
  • Good browser performance for your IFS Cloud release
  • Reliable barcode scanning for your distances / label types
  • Strong Wi-Fi roaming in the warehouse
  • Battery life and accessory options
  • Secondary reader of RFID  Tags instead of BarCode Scanning.

So my short answer would be:

  • Best mainstream choices: Zebra (TC7 Servies / TC8000)
  • Also worth a look: Bluebird
  • Best for hazardous areas: i.safe MOBILE IS540.1

We are using Zebra brand.  Happy with the scan guns.   The Wadaco app does  have  limitations for us but the guns  are fine
