Hello, is this a design of IFS or a bug. I am trying to add a person resource to another maintenance organization on the same site and I am getting an error message.

This user is primarily responsible for mending and maintaining our production tools but they also have to record data on maintaining the machines they use in there. So we can easily differentiate on which work orders and tasks are for which area we have created separate Maintenance Organization, however it appears that I can not add an employee to multiple Maint Org for the same site.

Is this a bug or the way the system is designed, we are currently using 24R2 SU4.

@Alexander Heinze - that is what I’m trying to do and the error message appears as per the screen shot.

Sorry, my bad. I added the person to the 2nd resource group and specified the 2nd maint org. At least that’s what I thought, but I only overwrote the maint org on the other resource group, so it seems what you’re trying for cannot be achieved.

I think you cannot have the same person with multiple maintenance organizations in one resource group. Would it help if you created multiple resource groups (one per maint org) and added the person to each one? Or only specify the site, which should include all maint orgs?

@Alexander Heinze , I have created multiple resource person groups for the different maint orgs and added the persons to this. There doesn’t seem to be a way to add the maint org to the resource group. It is when I go to the person resource that I can not add more than one maint org. If I remove the maint org from the person resource record they can report on all work tasks however they do not appear in the drop down list for resource when reporting time which is not the best user experience.

I didn’t mean adding the maint org to the resource group, but you add user X to resource group A and specify maint org A and also add user X to resource group B and specify maint org B.

@Alexander Heinze - thank you for finding that post, looks like I am going to have to remove the maint org from persons that need to be able to record details in more than one. Thanks again for your reply and the help it has given.
