The key reasons shop order requisitions are not generated under method N can be:

No Actual Demand Has Been Triggered Yet

If there's no customer order, shop order, or manual demand requiring the part, nothing will be generated. MRP won't touch it.

Parent Shop Order Has Not Been Created

Since Method N reacts to next-level demand, the part must be included in the structure of a parent part. That parent part must have a shop order or customer order in place — only then will the system create a demand-driven requisition.

Requisition is Waiting on Shop Order Release

If the parent shop order exists but hasn't been released, demand-driven child orders may not be created yet. Many configurations wait for release before triggering lower-level demand.

Inventory is Sufficient

If current stock levels fulfill the demand from the parent shop order or customer order, no new requisition will be generated — as per the pull principle.

What you got to understand here is the pull principal. Here, materials or parts are only produced or ordered when there is actual demand — rather than forecasting or planning ahead. No inventory is created just in case — it’s created just in time.

here I have a question, after parent shop order release should MRP run before generating shop order requisition for child orders?

According to the definition given in the help documentation, if a parent shop order is released, and it contains child parts with Planning Method N, the system should automatically generate shop order or purchase requisitions for those child parts at that point, without needing an MRP run.
