All of the new part assistant “Part Types” include creating a purchase part. Not all of our inventory parts are purchased. Some are manufactured.

Is there a way to use the new part assistant in Cloud to create the master part, inventory part and sales part without creating a purchase part?

Hi @hmccabe

I have checked the behaviour in the latest IFS Cloud version, 25R2 and found that ‘New Part’ assistant could be use to create only ‘Purchase’ and ‘Non-Inventory Sales Parts’.

Further information regarding ‘New Part’ assistant contains in http://clouddocs/ifsdoc/Greenhouse/Documentation/en//default.htm?openpage=http://clouddocs/ifsdoc/Greenhouse/Documentation/en//MaintainInventory/ActivityUsingtheNewPartAssistant.htm

Therefore, in the standard solution, you are unable to create a master part, inventory part and sales part without creating a purchase part. Nevertheless, you may be able to fulfill your requirement using a customization. Also, I would recommend to raise an Idea post via https://community.ifs.com/ideas if you believe your business requirement is valid to be considered in future product version as an enhancement.
