Hello Community!

I’m trying to create a schedule and rule which includes a 50 hr weekly limit after which ALL time is converted to DT (double time).  The problem I’m having - the conversion order.  The requirement is to convert (reduce) OT time first, then reduce Normal time.  IFS is taking from Normal time first - I need the opposite.  The Conversion Default Check box doesn’t seem to change the order of conversion.  Any experience out there?  Schedule:

Hi,

Curious since this sounds similar to a need we have. We have a request to have a prioritized withdrawal from balances where you can decide which hours are withdrawn first when you report absence. This is now handled in the payroll system but would be good to have also in IFS.

The “conversion default” checkbox doesn’t affect in what order the time is converted when you convert from a balance… just when you convert in to this balance. If you convert from another balance directly to this balance, not using a specific wage code, the system still needs a wage code to generate the result on and will use the wage code marked as “conversion default”.

And I don’t think you can decide in what order different types of time should be converted. As soon as you have put a time in to a balance it is all equal… just hours.. It is all one big bucket.

When you say ”IFS is taking from Normal time first” how do you mean then? How do you see this?

Regards,

Maria

Hi @ADDMARIAE

Soon after I posted my question, I stumbled on how to prioritize which wage code generating the balance is converted first.  Turns out, its the order, top to bottom, as they appear in the “Daily Rule” tab, in the “Wage Code Generating Balance”.

On a whim,  I reversed the order:

Ordering

and recalculated “Time Card Day”.  IFS converted OT hr.s to DT hr.s first then converted the rest from REG hr.s.  What I needed!!!

I went back to the original order (original post) -  recalculated.  IFS went back to converting REG hr.s first.  Seems to be a direct cause and effect.

Hope that helps.  Regards, Troy
