Engineering Part Revision

Hi all,

After released the relevant engineering part from the engineering part revision page, I transfer the relevant engineering part from the engineering revision transfers page.
When I check in the inventory part revision tab, I see the line of the latest engineering revision of the relevant Eng Rev value on the 2nd line, I cannot see the intermediate lines (eng rev values).
What could be the reason?
I would like to see the revisions of the engineering part in the each lines in the inventory material revisions tab.
What should I do for all lines to appear on the revision tab?

By the way, the engineering part’s Provide Code is Buy.

Thanks

Ozge

This is a manufacturing-side screen.  What you’re looking at is the revision of the Inventory Part and then you see the Eng Rev that’s tied to it; it isn’t the other way around.  You don’t necessarily have an inventory part revision for every eng rev.  Assuming you did transfer those intermediate engineering revs, as you, I would expect to have had Inventory Part revs 1 thru 6 with revs T1 thru T6 listed for them.

Create a T7 rev and transfer it and see if the system creates a rev 3 of your inventory part.

Also, refer to your Transfer Templates.  There is a setting that controls if a new Inventory Rev should be created for each Eng Rev.  Screenshot included for reference.  I haven’t tested this for some time, and there can be exceptions for example a Purchased Part with a structure that is Buildable, will create new a new Inventory Rev when transferring.  What I recall, if this flag is “On”, transferring a new Eng Rev will create a new inventory rev.  If “Off”, the transfer over-writes Inventory Rev 1 with the Eng Rev from that transfer, no new Inventory Rev is created.

Based on your screenshot I assume you have it turned On for the transfer template used for your transfers as it did create a new Inventory Rev for your last transfer.  As Patrick mentions, if you don’t transfer the in-between Eng Revs for whatever reason, you would not see Inventory Rev’s for them regardless of the “Create Part Revision for each Eng Rev setting”.

This is from Cloud, but Apps 10 and earlier are similar.
