You can remove the default value of the Product PNG field by removing the below section via the page designer.
 

Remove the update section and make sure to save and publish the context.

Setting/ Removing default values doesn't seem to be possible via the page designer (an option to set/ remove a default value cannot be found).
I have checked this in IFS Cloud and APP10 Aurena.

I was looking to do this from a  configuration without going to a modification. Seems it is not possible.
