Hello

We have had buttons added to the Customers and Sales Specific screens, so that when one customer is selected, a button appears at the top saying ‘Add Quote’ or ‘Add Order’.

However, these buttons currently just take you to the Customer Order / Sales Quotation screens and you have to manually create the order/quote.

Is there a way that the information for the customer selected on the Customers / Sales Specific screens can be pushed into the Order/Quote entry screens so the information is pre populated?

e.g.

  • Go to Customers
  • Search for ‘cust123’
  • Select the row
  • Add Order/Add Quote buttons appear
  • Click Add Order
  • Takes you to the Customer order screen with a new order opened and ‘cust123’ details populating the order

Thanks

Yes, it’s possible, but what you are asking for is a customization. Unfortunately, you aren’t going to find an ‘out of the box’ functionality to do what you are requesting.

Depending on your version of IFS, you may want to consider Copy Customer Order or Copy Sales Quotation. Additionally, you could create some dummy orders / quotes where the order or quote number is = to the customer id rather than going down the customization route.

@EILCTHOMPSON If you’re using at least 22R1, you could have those buttons point towards Quick Customer Order Registration. Unfortunately, as @Jimmy K mentions, you can’t assign default values to pages by using Page Designer → this would need to be done via modification. It’s gonna be a small modification, but still a modification.

Hi

Thanks for this. We are on 22.2.8.

We have been told that it’s just not possible at all, so it’s interesting to hear that it is possible.

Thanks

We don’t mind modifications - do you have any further details of what I need to ask our partners to do?

Thank you for the idea about dummy order/quote where the order or quote number = customer ID!!
