We have a number of Work Task Templates that we have built up in Apps 10.  We recently started having the Asset Management techs using Tech Portal start creating their own work in certain situations.

We informed them to utilize these Work Task Templates, specifically because it included the Work Task Steps.  However, when creating new work from the New Work button within the Maintenance Engineer lobby under the equipment section, then adding the Work Task Template.  The resulting work task does not contain any work task steps.

Using the same work task templates, and objects, we can create new work from the back-office side of things and it all works exactly as expected.

Hi Paul,

I have checked this in the latest UPD version. Your issue is not created. Could you please let us know the UPD version of your environment?

Thilina.

We are currently on UPD 18.  But we already have a ticket in to move to UPD 27.  Unsure on the exact timeline at the moment though.

Hi Paul,

Could you please check in the WO that the template is showing in the Jobs and Templates tab? If not as a workaround you can add the template to WO. In the meantime, I will check if this issue was reported before and fixed.

Thilina.

I looked at the work order I am testing in our DEV environment.  I had not noticed it before, but it does not appear to be applying the template.  We had slightly modified one of the options on the “New Work” assistant that they are using from this approach.

We only did this on the 3rd option, “Create Work that I will Perform”.  In Page Designer, the template item is already present, but the visibility attribute had something different in there, and it never showed.  So we modified it to where it would always be there, and it was mandatory because we ONLY want them using task templates.  I assume this is part of the reason?

Hi Paul,

Yes. The issue is that the work task template is not fetching in the work order. This issue was corrected between UPD18 and UPD27.
