Product Update item on Purchase Requistion

We have our Product Center integrated with our “system of record” so the COST of items is sent over when ever it updates. We have the need to create Purchase Req’s for items that we do not have a “cost” for. When that cost is updated in our system of record, it is not updating in the Product Center since we have open purchase reqs for it. Is this a setting that can be updated on my side?

Hi Angie,

You might check if the settings for the cost type are configured as Average or Last instead of standard in the Financials Setup which impacts how cost is saved. Perhaps if it is one of these, the application does not allow updates of the cost via API through the business object?  (I take it that if there are no open PR’s, this integration works?)

The definition of these are as follows:

Please also note, open PR’s do not affect the cost, it is the receiving those PR’s that would do this in the case of Last Cost and Average Cost options.

Digging into this more, the issue seems to be the “serialization” of the product.  We have it set to send “Never” over in the integration, but it thinks we are changing it since we are sending it. And you can’t change the serialization with an open PR. We are going to try sending it without the serialization flag to see if that helps.
