Hi,

We know that there is an option to allow email addresses to be used for more than one contact now, but we want to keep using that as a way to prevent duplicate contacts from being accidentally created.

So ,we were wondering if there is any hybrid way that we can still get the warnings when someone tries to use the same email address but at the same time we could duplicate an email address when we really need to?  Perhaps just some users being able to do that perhaps?

Or get the warning but could ignore it.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,

So you want to not allow duplicate emails when generating a contact except for certain users having the right to create a duplicate?

I can’t see how the Alliance application would be able to prevent this. A contact must have an email address and if you show sharing an email address then it can’t be prevented from what I can see.

i think this would have to be a code customization to provide the warning but allow proceeding in both the employee portal and partner portal to do this (thinking of self-registrations).

Thanks Phil,

That’s what I expected but always worth an ask.
