Can we add additional categories on a customer record?

Forum|alt.badge.img+8

Currently, there are 3 options available within the categories field on a customer record:

  1. Customer
  2. Prospect
  3. End Customer

Is it possible to define additional categories within this field? For example, Indirect customer (already buying / using the product – but don’t want to sell directly to them) or Individual (Sole operator / no Company – don’t want to sell directly to them).

I’ve seen companies define the desired customer sub category within the ‘Form of Business’ and use it. Will that help?

Even ‘One Time Customer’ could be an option depending on the requirement

Hello,

you cannot add additional categories in the customer in IFS standard. The categories have a functional impact e.g. certain tabs in the customer are not active if you create a customer of category “Prospect” and the Right Mouse Button “Change Customer Category” in the customer header is based on these 3 standard categories. So I think you

  • would have to implement this with a customization if really necessary
  • or create a new custom field
  • or use another standard field like “Cust Stat Grp (in tab “General)

to cover the customer’s requirements.

BR,

Martin
