Will there be adversely affect/cause issues, if the receipt date on inventory part in stock line changed after a data migration process?

Hi @Hashane Bolonne,

Changing the receipt date for a stock line in IPIS can have implications such as costing, inventory valuation, FIFO/FEFO reservation logic, and shelf‑life calculations.

  • Inventory valuation & costing - for Weighted Average Cost and periodic cost calculations, receipt date can affect.
  • Shelf‑life calculations - If the Receipt date is used for Base date for shelf-life calculation
  • FIFO/FEFO reservation logic - This change may impact which stock is reserved or picked first.

And it may be safe,
→ When no FIFO/FEFO picking logic is active
→ When financial periods are still open
→ When receipt date is corrected to match real historical data

Changing the receipt date can be acceptable when aligning it with the actual receipt date to reflect the true history.

Thanks,

Vihan
