We are using IFS 9.

  • What is the purpose of the test initialization function for mobile users?
  • Is the user’s data actually synced?

Test Initialization will only test the collection of data to send to the device for the first time. It will not process any Transactions.

This will create a new "dummy" device for the select User, App and App Version and perform an initialization. On selecting the Test Initialization option a prompt will be shown to navigate to the Background Job that will process the initialization request.

Once this request is completed the results will be shown in the Logs, Synchronized Entities and Synchronization Traces (if enabled)

Cheers

James

Thank you for your response.

To clarify that I am understanding correctly,

  • Pending transactions that the user has that have not synced yet will be synced when the test initialization runs?
  • And if so, are those transactions all associated with the device “dummy” ?
