Hi Experts,

If I setup a bucket resource, I am not getting ‘Company Settings’ tab in the resource. Hence, I am not able to make a bucket resource a MWO user. Is this the design thinking behind bucket resources when it comes to MWO ?. Or is there any other way to make a bucket resource using MWO ? Or are there any plans to enable MWO for bucket resources in future, if yes any idea when would that be 25R2 or later version?

Thank you,

Roshan

Bucket resource

Normal resource

For rather complex topics IFS is using a phased approach instead of a big bang (this was similar for crews). So instead of introducing everything in 2025, 24R2 added bucket resources to planning and scheduling, work execution however will follow in a later release.

The same applies to contractor management, which goes hand in hand with buckets: “The Contractor Management Base feature for Request Management is the initial stage of a multi-release contractor management initiative. The overall target is to provide enhanced visibility and control over contractors and their activities, to simplify administration, and to give contractors autonomy and flexibility. This will ultimately allow you to deliver world-class service to your customers. The first release will establish the foundation for the overall contractor management solution. It will support the ability to define and assign work to contractors, allowing them to execute assigned work, as well as to keep track of costs and manage invoicing.

Thank you Alexander for the response. Does this mean MWO will also support for Bucket resources in future, in addition to allow execute work in cloud ?.

I don’t know what’s planned on the execution side, however R&D is finalizing the roadmap for 25R1 and 25R2 at the moment, so hold that question for a couple of days. 😁

As per the product team,

Buckets are designed to be unnamed capacity resources, and all you can do with the assignments is complete them. It's not going to be supported in mobile.
