Dispatch Console - Engineers from different Service Delivery Units

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hi all,

Working with the Dispatch Console i have  created one DataSet with one Service Organisation and 4 Delivery Units (relating with geographical places in the country).

I want to assign a unassigned task (Delivery Unit A) to an engineer from the same delivery unit. However, the system allows me to assign the task to an engineer from another delivery unit:

Is it a possibility to not allow the scheduler to assign a task with a delivery unit to an engineer from another delivery unit?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Irene

AFAIK there is no such validation in Dispatch Console, however you could create a BPA that checks and presents a warning or reject the assignment. See chapter Use of BPAs to Build Custom Validation Logic in IFS Cloud - Scheduling demystified (24R2) | IFS Community

Thanks Alexander it makes sense!

Btw, 25R1 will also add more fields to the DC Search Context so that you can filter candidates based on SDU:

Hi Irene,

Could you please let us know what is the product version? And what do you mean by delivery unit? Is it the resource group?

Regards,

Thilina.

Hi Thilina, thanks for your quick answer!

I’m working with Cloud version 24R2.

I have created one service organisation with 4 different delivery units:

Besides, I have created a resource group with 2 engineers, one linked to one Delivery Unit and another one to another Delivery Unit :

All is linked to the same DataSet.

So, as this task is linked to this delivery unit (Central), I only want to assign this task to engineers belonging to the same Delivery Unit:

Is this possible? Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks!

Irene
