Error when Approving a Project

Forum|alt.badge.img+11

Hello,

I’m getting the following error when I try to approve a project that is copied from another project that has an activity start date of 2/24/25.  Strangely enough, I don’t get this error is I use a project start date of 2/3/25.  The financial project exists after I approve and the Finance tab of the project has values..  Please help if you can.

Hi Patrick,

I have seen this error before and then the valid period of the financial project was causing it.

The period of the financial project has an relation to the code part values valid period.

When that is not valid it can cause the error message.

First:

Then I try to create a demand line on the project and the same error is visible.

After changing the data on the financial project

The code part values will be updated as well and I can create a demand line.

Hopes this help.

Greetings,

Dennis

Thank you, Dennis.  I see this as a BUG.  I’ve created CS0337229 so that it can be fixed.  I agree with the work around.

RnD has come back and declare that it is not a bug.  When a project is copied and it has demands on it, the created date of the demand becomes TODAY even though the project may start months from now.  So, to get around this, we need to change the planned start to TODAY or earlier, or delete the demands and reenter after the project is approved.  I vote for the work around to change the planned start of the project to today or earlier, then approve it, and then reset the planned start date if you want to.
