Attaching zip file to BOP or CO

Has anyone attempted to add a zip file to a BOP or CO?  Is it even possible?  We often have large files with bids, quotes, assembly docs, etc and thought it would be easier to attach it as a zip file.  Zip files are not categorized as documents. .pdf, .xml and etc are documents. Each type of attachment requires a different file path to be created. For example a jpeg would need to be attached under media attachments, and wouldn't be able to import as an document attachment. We do import zip files when migrating profiles, permissions, lobbies and etc.. but the areas we're working in are mapped for zip... has anybody come up with a method to map a zip file to the BOP or CO?

Hi @Karen

It seems this is possible.

I tried below steps in Cloud application.

Created a CO (Customer order) and used New document option in the attachment panel.

Then I entered the document class and dragged and dropped a zip file.

The document attachment was created.

You can click on the download option and the zip file will get downloaded.

Please let me know whether this information helps.

Best Regards,

Thilini

I followed your instruction, both with drag and drop and browse, but I’m getting invalid file type.

What am I missing?

Hi Karen,

Zip files must be allowed for document attachments in EDM basic data. Example:
