Will the updates be available to deploy with the push of one button? We have custom items and are currently using the sourcetree/git combo to align out baseline and solution. I know environments with no customizations are able to use this method now after a recent release.

No definitely not, in fact, unless you are managing the configuration changes rigidly (maybe you are since you mention sourcetree/git), it can become very problematic to do updates/upgrades without losing the context changes or missing the new updates from IFS.
