Hello folks,

I have a concern regarding the Contract Change Orders (CCO) functionality in IFS Cloud.

In a CCO, when you add a line, I am unable to see the connected project information. Since the CCO is originating from the sales contract, I would imagine that the project/sub project/activity connected to the sales contract should be automatically fetched to the CCO line as well. Otherwise the user will always have to enter this information manually which is not a good user experience IMO. (Please see the attached screenshot).

Why is this functionality built this way? Is there any particular reason why the project information is not automatically fetched to the CCO line or can this be improved ?

Kind regards,

Ashani

Hi @AshD,

Contract Change Orders (CCOs) allow modifications to the original contract scope—such as adding or removing work—without needing to create a new contract. These changes can affect the contract amount or completion date.

So, it needs to be flexible. There may be instances where the original project/activity may no longer be valid at the time of the change order, or it may not relate to the same project structure as the original line. Automatically copying project data could lead to invalid assignments, failed postings etc.

The system intentionally leaves project-related fields blank to force explicit user input and avoid incorrect assumptions as per my understanding.

Hi @Yathartha Karunananda

Thanks for your reply. You make a valid point, and I do understand the reasoning to a certain extent. However, it would be helpful if there was a “Copy from original contract” option at least, in the event the customer wants to connect the same project/sub project/activity to the CCO lines. In my experience working with construction customers in ANZ, they always almost want to connect the same activity to the change order. Having to enter this information manually is an additional work for them. This would be a nice improvement in IFS Cloud.

Kind regards,

Ashani
