Commited cost preventing closure of a Project Activity

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

Project activity is connected to a work order. Under unfinished activity work, I can see ‘’Some object is reporting committed cost to the activity. Analyze which object that reports committed cost.’’

Cost is related to Materials CRE.

How can I clear this up to close the project activity?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Kavinda_Jay,

Perhaps some erroneous costs are hanging in the Project connections.

Execute the below job if you have not done it already. This is should fix the matter, unless there is some cost actually reporting from the WO.

Enter your Project ID in the Project field.

Hi @Kavinda_Jay,

When it comes to Work Orders the Committed Costs could be reported from various things.  Check whether your Work Order has any;

  • Assigned Resources (Persons or Tool/Equipments)
  • Planning items of External/Expense types
  • Material Requisitions

If you do, then you will have to process those and finish (unless you want to remove them)

However, if you do not wish to maintain the Project Connection with the Work Order then you can try to disconnect the connection as well.

Hi @Tharindu Illangasinghe

No anything to process related to the following connection types.

  • Assigned Resources (Persons or Tool/Equipments)
  • Planning items of External/Expense types
  • Material Requisitions

We do not want to disconnect the WO from the Project either.

Do you have any further ideas?

Thank you.

Kind Regards,
