Can having alternates of a product structure revision affect the ability to transfer a new engineering revision, thus creating a new revision of a product structure?

Having multiple alternates of a Product Structure revision (or Inventory Part Revision) would not affect the ability to transfer new engineering revision.
On transferring new engineering revision, the system would simply create a new revision of Inventory Part and Product structure automatically.
