Hi,

IFS Cloud 25R2 version.

The Test Operation is set for AQL 0.25 and Inspection Level II.

For a Shop Order of Lot Size 4 the Sample Size 3 has been calculated.

The question is, here all 3 samples are within Inner limits. However, the Acceptance Sampling Status shown as “Rejected”. Any reason ?

The AQL value is expressed as the acceptable percentage of nonconforming items, so AQL=0.25 means that a lot with at the most 0.25% of items outside the specification limits (below 5.987 or above 9.6876) is considered acceptable.

The entered inspection result values are all within the specification limits, but the calculated standard deviation is high, so the acceptance sampling logic determines that the probability of the item that was not inspected is “out of specification” is higher than 0.25%, and therefore the lot is Rejected.

Hi @Peter Lundgren,

Thank you for the answer, it clarifies the behavior.

Do you know whether there is a chance to select the AQL standard as “Zero Acceptance Number Sampling Plans. Fifth Edition by Nicholas I. Squeglia American Society for Quality” instead of the ISO standards currently shown in the Control Plans ?

Currently there is no support for what is commonly known as “AC=0 Sampling Plans” in IFS Cloud.

  • No international standard for AC=0 sampling exists. What you are referring to is a book, not a standard.
  • AC=0 sampling is included in ASQR-20.1. But ASQR is not a public and independently published standard like AS9100 or ISO 3951-2.   ASQR is a proprietary, company-specific requirements document property of RTX (Raytheon Technologies)
