What do you mean with BOM?

I assume BOM in this case means Bill Of Material. In IFS there are multiple types of BOM’s:

  • Product Structure
    • The classic “Manufacturing BOM”. But can also handle structures for purchasing, repair, disassembly, remanufacturing etc.
  • Receipt Structure
    • A special MBOM for recipe parts allowing components to be specified by weight and volume
  • Configuration Structure
    • A special MBOM used for configurable parts. Contains all the possible components that may be required depending on the configuration
  • Planning Structure
    • Used for “level 0 master scheduled parts”. I.e., to group parts into a family part for planning reasons
  • Engineering Structure (Engineering part Navigator)
    • The engineering BOM used when the product is designed.

I assume you mean Bill of Materials (or Product Structure as its known in IFS)

The IFS Acadamy is a great place to get some formal training (if your happy/able to pay for courses).

If you prefer some free of charge self learning, then Docs.ifs.com is another useful resource. As is this IFS community!

Good luck in your learning and welcome to the world of IFS!

@tandoganmak I would recommend starting with the Using IFS Cloud Web training - this was re-designed in 25.2 and it’s very good.

Then, to learn more on how to handle Product Structures (BOMs) as they are called in IFS, you could browse the below pages:

Hi @tandoganmak

To further add the already provided responses:

BOM is referred in IFS Cloud as Product Structure. This has different variants like Product Structure, Recipe Structure, Planning Structure and Configuration Structure.

This functionality explains in several places as mentioned below.

Product Structure : Mainly discuss in Discrete Manufacturing Course

Configuration Structure : Discussed in Configure to Order Course

Recipe Structure : Discussed in Batch Process Manufacturing Course

For beginner it is recommend to follow the Discrete Manufacturing Course first.

In our Academy Digital world we have everything in once place the learning achievement name is “Basic Data for Manufacturing” this is available in all major courses like Discrete Manufacturing, Batch and CTO etc. Below sub activities we discuss in Athena content.
