EDI 753 - Ready to Ship

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Does anyone transmit the 753 EDI document - Ready to Ship out of IFS?  If so - how are you setting it up and triggering the generation?

Hi @dsexton,

There is no native function to trigger the 753.  I ran into this requirement a couple of years ago with a customer who had 1 specific trading partner who required the 753 so they transformed the 856 we sent from IFS in their middleware software to mimic a 753.

This worked OK because the volume was relatively low and it was 1 trading partner.  If you are doing this at scale, a custom message may be the way to go.

Hi @dsexton

usually, IFS creates an XML file, but not a 753 file.

You can convert this XML file to EDI 753 yourself. You could use an EAI, for example.

Alternatively, you can forward the xml file to an EDI provider, who will convert it and send it to the customer on your behalf.
