Best Practice for Managing Consignment Stock in IFS Cloud

Hello,

We are looking for best practices and standard functionality in IFS Cloud to effectively manage Consignment Stock and a potential buy-back process.

Our scenario is as follows:

  • Materials are supplied by vendors and stored in our warehouse as consignment stock.
  • Ownership remains with the supplier until the material is consumed in production.
  • We periodically settle consumed quantities with the supplier.
  • In some situations, excess or obsolete consignment inventory should be returned or bought back by the supplier.

We would like to understand:

  1. What is the recommended setup for managing Consignment Stock in IFS Cloud?
  2. How do you handle supplier ownership and consumption-based settlement?
  3. Is there standard functionality to support supplier buy-back or return of consignment inventory?
  4. Which inventory transactions, purchasing processes, or modules are typically involved?
  5. Are there any lessons learned or common pitfalls from real implementations?

Any examples, process flows, or configuration recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Arkadiusz Brodnicki
