Hi everyone,

I am currently configuring Absence Management in IFS Cloud and I would like to understand whether the following scenario is supported by standard functionality.

Configuration:

  • Absence Type 01 = Annual Leave
  • Annual entitlement = 26 working days
  • Absence Type 05 = Carry Over
  • Annual Leave is configured with:
    • Limit Defined = Yes
    • Carry Forward = Yes
    • Carry Forward Absence Type = 05 (Carry Over)

Business requirement:

At the end of each year, any remaining Annual Leave balance should be transferred to the Carry Over absence type.

The Carry Over balance should accumulate indefinitely over multiple years.

Example:

2026:

  • Annual Leave entitlement = 26 days
  • Employee uses 21 days
  • Remaining balance = 5 days

Beginning of 2027:

  • Carry Over balance = 5 days
  • New Annual Leave entitlement = 26 days

2027:

  • Employee does not use any Annual Leave
  • Remaining Annual Leave balance at year end = 26 days

Beginning of 2028:

  • Expected Carry Over balance = 31 days
(5 days carried over from 2026 + 26 days carried over from 2027)

My question is:

Does standard IFS Cloud support this type of unlimited cumulative carry-over, or does the carry-forward process only transfer the balance from the immediately preceding year?

If additional configuration is required, could you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

Hi,

You can’t add all carry over days to the same line..like you can’t carry over the carry over and summarize with the new carry over…

But.. what you can do is that you can set an unlimited valid to date for the carry over absence limit.

For example when you generate carry over next year end you can set the valid to on the carry over days to 31st Dec 2099.

Hope that helps,

Maria
