At the completion of every shop order we have process where we have report component scrap. We have been using the Report Component Scrap function within shop floor workbench and shop orders. But we find that this functionality only allows you to to select and report one component at a time. On some shop orders we can have dozens of components we need to scrap. There is no way to select multiple components and report scrap quantities in one batch. Is there another method that we can use to report multiple components at time or is there a setting somewhere that we need to adjust to allow us to select multiple components in the Report Component Scrap page?

i do not have an answer for this but i am commenting to follow and ask an additional question. When you are reporting scrap on a shop order, are you finding that it creates a journal entry for the reported scrap? The process we are doing - reporting scrap on a shop order, is not reporting the scrap, rather we have to pull a material manufacturing history to report the scrap.

Thanks in advance.

I think this client has some potential to be more efficient when reporting scrap for multiple components. Please consider requesting this using the idea section of the community.

Thank you for looking into this. I will consider submit this as an idea.

Do you think about the default scrap rate in routing?

Do you think about the default scrap rate in routing?

Would this be a global scrap rate. In other words, a rate that would affect all components in the product structure. For us it needs to be component based.

Thanks,

Issy

Hi @eknock007,

Nope, it would be a component based only. You have to enter per Component Scrap Factor in Product Structure Components tab.
